I have had the pleasure of working for Westgate for almost two years. I enjoy my job helping residents and families through this difficult time, this may be a new experience for them. Westgate is a busy building, we have policies that we follow and it is to protect your loved one. We want to ensure the residents safety upon discharge that they will remain in good health once home. We look forward to serving the community and I value each and every family that we serve. I personally have had three of our close family friends come to Westgate as patients for rehab, they had great experiences and loved our therapy team and staff. We have many staff that take pride in their work and enjoy making your families experience a positive one. Don’t always judge a book by it’s cover, you have to read it to see how it ends. Please give Westgate a try for yourself and see how we rate first hand. Hope to see you soon!

I did a tour of the facility and the entire staff was polite and professional. The facility was clean and comfortable. The residents were participating in activities and enjoying themselves. If my Mom is unable to come home this is where I will place her!

Friendly, upbeat, and positive professional environment. I'm happy to be a part of the Westgate team. Everyone takes pride in giving our residents a home away from home, with the best therapy team and caregivers.

I gave that place my heart and they spat in my face and treated me like a dog. If you’re a straight man trying to further your career being a CNA, do not go there. You will become a target and they will find a dirty way of embarrassing you and firing you. I’am very fortunate that I have a residual means of income as I was doing this to try something new, but because of this facility, I have learned that the CNA industry is no longer what it used to be. It is a woman governed Industry full of compulsive emotions, and little facts. This facility was a shining example of the corrupt decay of healthcare. Yes, the facility is clean, but most of the CNA’s and LVN’s are dirty. If you don’t believe me, read the reviews. I do not stand alone on these matters.

My husband was a patient and I must say he was very happy with the whole staff. They are thoughtful and considerate. Always there in a timely manner to help. It’s nice to know Visalia has such a great facility for recovering patients. Thank you for the best of care.

My mom was at Westgate for about 5 months. When I wanted her transferred to one of their sister facilities so she's closer to me and I could spend more time with her the administrator helped get me in contact with the administrator of the other facility. He also assisted me and making sure the transition went smoothly for her transfer over there. Westgate is the top notch facility the only reason I needed to move her was because I needed her closer to me other than that there would not be one reason I would have moved her.

My mother has been a resident at Westgate for over a year and she has been treated so well there. The staff is great. She is well cared for and I’m very grateful for that.

Some staff can be great, there are some that do their job well. My mother who was really doing so much better started saying how she would get out soon! The nurses started keeping her from her “smoke times” started changing times that they had told her they would take her out. Saying that her “cigarettes were “locked away and they didn’t have access to them” after pouring tea in her cup all week, suddenly they “can’t do that” for her. She had asked to be discharged (she had made so much progress and really didn’t need to be there. They said it would take 3 hours it was 5, and the lady that was supposedly “handling it”decided to go home without letting us know. Knowing my mother was waiting on the paperwork.
The other nurses started to be rude to my mother, until I showed up. Disappointing

The night I took.my husband to the emergency room he had a very severe UTI, a fever and could no longer walk. He had lost quite a bit of weight. This was pretty scary since he was there less than a month. All his physical therapy had been stopped. He was in a corner with a curtain around him. He also had pneumonia. He spent 7 days in hospital. When he was stable I took him home under hospice. At least he got good care in his final days.

Two times in one month has it occurred where my grandmother has had excessive blood sugar and blood pressure under Westgate’s car. She has been admitted to the hospital both times and it is evident that these people do not care and fail to care for its residents like they should. The total lack of neglect and responsibility in our experience should be a sign, along with other reviews, to avoid this awful establishment.

My father was in their care for 4 months. They released him to me in worse condition than when he went in. He was not in any condition to leave. Couldn’t walk. Had sores on his feet. Physical Therapy made no progress. Nurses were lazy. He’s diabetic and wasn’t taken care of like he should have been. Don’t get me started on social services. Needless to say I am finding him a new nursing home to get the care that he needs.

Very noisy at night! It took 1.5 hours to get the nurse to give a pain pill, she said the call light burnt out!
