Westland House of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula reviews
2Terrible. Unprofessional. My Dad receives care from Hospice of the Central Coast, and he was checked into Westland House for several days. He is in his eighties and has dementia. He is bed-bound and can no longer communicate in words. My Mom arrived to visit him, and the nurse, Jasmine, stopped feeding my Dad and told my Mom, "You feed him, I have to take care of another patient. " My Mom refused. She is in her eighties, and has arthritis and other health problems. That's why she can't take care of my Dad! Jasmine walked out, dumped the food tray contents in the trash, and never came back. My Mom went to the front desk, and no one was there. A long time later, my Mom finally got to talk to a manager, and they promised Jasmine wouldn't be assigned my Dad anymore. The next day, my Mom visited my Dad again, and guess who was assigned to my Dad? ! Jasmine! Another aspect of this bad experience is that my Mom found that they weren't feeding my Dad enough food, that he lost so much weight, that he was so hungry that he quickly gobbled up the strawberries that my Mom brought him. Every time my Mom visited my Dad, she found they hadn't changed his diaper in a long time, except one time the nurse boasted that they had just given him a "shower" (which they only did because my Dad had a bowel movement that messed up the bed, so they had no choice). This is a terrible place that doesn't treat human beings like human beings. I do not recommend Hospice of the Central Coast to anyone, and I do not recommend Westland House to anyone.
My dad had an excellent experience here in February while recovering from a fall. The physical therapists at W. H.are excellent and demonstrated empathy for the patients and loved ones.
