Wild Palms Hotel - JDV by Hyatt, Sunnyvale CA

Awesome hotel. Very pleasant atmosphere. The lobby, swimming pool area are really good. Rooms are very clean and lighting is good. Air conditioning is old fashioned and noisy.

Great place to stay if your looking for friendly staff, and clean motor inn rooms! I stayed here three weekends in a row and have nothing bad to say about it. The pool is awesome if it’s not packed with kids!

This place was adorable and offered free breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was free, nothing amazing but it's always nice to save a bit of money and time on vacation by eating at the hotel. The rooms were nice but the bed was a hotel bed. It's not bad but it's not great. The bathroom had a shower/bath combo but the bath leaked the whole time so you constantly had to refill it. The hot tub and pool were clean.

As soon as I walked in to my room, I noticed a dead cockroach in the closet. Frankly, that’s unacceptable and makes me wonder how much cleaning they do between guests, or if the room was just sitting vacant for some time. Thankfully, the staff was quick to give me another room.

To add to the service woes, the safe in my second room wasn’t working and it took me 3 calls for someone to come out and fix it.

Overall, the conditions of the rooms and hotel were decent, albeit somewhat outdated. I definitely would not recommend a room that’s on the Wolfe Road side, as you’ll hear fire trucks quite often and it’s pretty loud due to thee somewhat thin walls. Speaking of the thin walls, I could hear *a lot* of the footsteps of the person above me, as well as when they were showering.

Also, they’re still doing cold breakfast, which was also pretty mediocre.

If you have a little bit more to spend, I’d personally go for the Hilton Garden Inn or Courtyard by Mariott.

We love the free breakfast with the fresh cut fruit. They switch between sausage and bacon for the breakfast meats. They have a pool, hot tub, gym, and green areas with plants and waterfall.

Making it a goal of mine to try as many Hyatt locations as possible.

Decided to try out Wild Palms for a quick stay. Check in was easy and staff is friendly.

Decor in the hallways is a bit outdated and cringe. Room itself wasn't the cleanest. Floors were a bit dirty. Shower items (shampoo, conditioner, etc) are not locked. Similar to Hotel Avante, so not the biggest fan of the cleanliness aspect.

AC kept beeping also. In general, everything at this location is a bit oudated.

The benefits though, the price point is cheaper and there is free parking, so a few positives in the stay.

Good value but nothing exciting. Somewhat sketchy with ugly fortress parking, chain-smoking residents at the entrances, cars on blocks in the parking lot. Friendly helpful staff, clean basic rooms with daily cleaning! Free breakfast includes fresh fruit, decent coffee, indoor and outdoor seating.

A very pleasant place with a nice pool and gym. Location is very good for business travellers

This place is so good! I wish to come back again soon. Service is so good it’s amazing. Staff are super nice. Environment is relaxing and clean. Breakfast is awesome too. This is the real 5 stars hotel IMO!

Without exception the staff are fantastic

Not a good stay. I stayed in Feb 2023 and the hotel was undergoing renovations. I could overlook that if it wasn't going on the hallway we were staying. Half painted walls, threadbare carpet, missing lights. Rooms were 2 star (old, falling apart). Breakfast was inedible. My kids had plain bagels. I tried an hard boiled egg and it was sour and bad. Neighborhood was ok. There was a small market and a Dunkin Donuts within walking distance. Reasonably close to San Jose Airport. Staff was very nice.

A comfortable hotel in Sunnyvale close to san Jose with many restaurants nearby. The rooms were neat and all basic amenities like coffee machines, fridge and microwave was provided. The hotel also had swimming pool, jacuzzi and a small gym. It also had a large car parking facility with provision for parking buses.

Perfect location in the Bay area near to major tech companies, the hot tub is wonderful after a long day at work, i like the breakfast as well
