William S Hart Museum reviews
20Cool place to spend about 30-45 mins at. There are some animals and some trails. Free and accessible to most.
What a gem in Santa Clarita! The barnyard is awesome (open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-2pm) - pot bellied pigs, swans, alpacas, wild boars, chickens etc). Free and plenty of parking. The trail up to the house is great and passes by the bison paddock. The house is closed right now but still so worth a visit.
I have been going here since the 1960s! This is a great place to go with the whole family. The grounds are well kept and maintained very well If you can go!
Many happy memories going to this place with my family. Even if you don't know who William S. Hart was, it's a great place for anyone who loves western art and lore or anyone interested in old California/ Hollywood history. Also great for the kids because of all the animals to see.
We hated that the museum was closed because of Covid but my husband and I enjoyed hiking up to it. We saw bison and birds and the beautiful building and Mary Ellen’s tea room. It was peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed a picnic on the lawn at a picnic table. It was a perfect length walk.
Nice museum tucked away up the hill in Hart Park. The grounds and building are in immaculate shape and they do a great job of maintaining it. Plus it's surrounded by bison and pretty much a natural setting as it was back in the day. The docents and volunteers are all great.
Great place especially if you are interested in western art. The location is amazingly beautiful on top of a hill with rugged vistas. The docent was friendly and knowledgeable. Probably not a good place to bring small children.
This is an amazing Museum and incredible Park train depot original Sears kit houses and of course the beautiful Hart mansion at the top of the hill great Trails a Five Star Plus
We had such an amazing experience at this beautiful home. The guides were amazing, it was a beautiful day and an absolutely spectacular time exploring.
I have been coming here as a quick get away for a few hours quick hike. Love seeing the animal. The museum are cool.
Beautiful historic site to visit. Go up the hill to see William Hart's home. Be sure to look for the buffalo as you go up the hill.
The Cowboy Poetry festival a.c l is held here annually. It's a great festival to attend a.d it's free.
Great place to bring g the grandkids to see farm animals and picnic on the lathe grassy area. All for free.
The museum has so much in itself. It is altogether a combined mix of beautiful green gardens and great art collection. Being a nature lover!
The grounds are very nice. Several local events are also held at this location. The house tour is good but you will need to walk up the trail. This is a great place to spend an afternoon. The workers in the gift shop can also answer questions about the property. Nice staff. Free parking. There's a lot of history to be learned about Santa Clarita and Los Angeles.
This park indeed is a hidden gem per previous comments. I love hiking here! The Bisons are such great listeners. The views are amazing the higher you go.
It's a really neat house and you can tour his house and you can see basin and different animals in the barnyard
Tool a tour of this amazing historical landmark. The tour guide was knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. I learned so much about this William Hart.
Beautiful place to visit, great nature views, city views, trails, museum, and buffalo. A lot to see and do in one place and for free. Hopefully it stays free.
This is a gem of a museum. I first saw it on California gold with Huell Howser. I had it on my list of to do’s for quite some time and finally we went in conjunction with the poppy bloom out past Lancaster.
They are graciously equipped to handle the handicapped persons. You can drive up to the venue and park behind the house. A docent will take you in through the back door onto the second level so you don’t have to climb the stairs. It is so interesting. There’s artwork there from friends of William S Hart like Remington!
There’s a beautiful park down below with a huge grassy area and picnic tables. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s a visit I won’t ever forget.
I never thought this gem was behind the park that we pass by very often. There's a nice little hike until you get to the museum, where there are hourly free tours.
Excellent little museum! We enjoyed the tour of the house with a knowledgeable guide, Eileen. Already admirers of Wallace Neff, we checked another one of his creations off of our list. The location is beautiful, up on a knoll with great views. Also enjoyed viewing the Western art paintings and Indian rugs. Definitely recommend it!
