Supermarket WinCo Foods reviews
18 I just got admonished for having more than 15 items in the self checkout lane. I can see the reasoning for this policy during peak hours, however, it's 8am and there's very few people in the store. There were four self checkout lanes available and no one waiting for self checkout.
There was a long wait for the one employee running a checkout lane.
Instead of "Thank you, bye" it's "Sir, self checkout is for fewer than 15 items. "
I have 23 items in three bags. No regrets.
Great place to shop at, reasonable prices, but I did not know that they don't take credit cards. They need to display that clearly at the enteance. I ended using my friend's debit card.
We go there to get fresh Honey roasted peanut butter. So yummy. They keep a wide variety of grocery items, specially packaged food. Prices are reaonable. They take either cash or debit card. No credit card.
Was very happy to see a larger supply of gluten free products. I still don't think we should be charged for bags since we have to bag our own groceries.
Grocery wise you have probably a better selection then a super Walmart. Prices are good. Of course all Winco’s you have to bag your own groceries. Not an issue if not crowded. If crowded, bagging can be a pain or waiting for others to bag can slow things down.
Great store, but sorry to say, your employees are not very helpful. Asked a employee where we could find a product and she said "I'm not sure" and walked away.
Great bargain grocery store. Only thing I don’t like is lack of credit card processing. But pretty good selection of household staples.
First time at WinCo and we went overboard on all the bulk items, we were pretty much filling up small bags with all kinds of goodies - from goji berries to moth balls, doggies treats, dehydrated+chili pineapple, gummy worms, etc. Everything was great until we got to checkout which we opted to DIY and after ringing everything up, the reader kept saying our card is declined. We asked for assistance and right away one of the staff said they don't take credit cards. So we had to pay using debit which is something we never ever do. I get that they probably save money on CC fees but to us it's a major inconvenience
WinCo is a great place to save money and buy some things you wouldn't see elsewhere. Best thing is the employees and how friendly they are! Pricing is kind of up and down depending on what you're looking for. Just buying it fat free milk and even the store brand is more expensive at WinCo than Albertsons or Ralph's. We were able to find distilled water cheaper here than at other stores but only by a few pennies. They have the big boxes of soda which is great but pricing wise we can hit a sale at some of the stores even better. Eggs were not any better on pricing than the grocery stores that we go to. Produce is definitely cheaper but they don't always have enough variety or even enough of the produce. But we definitely like WinCo
I need one of you guys to contact me i was accused by the 'manager' that i was buying kids beer i come like every week and this lead clerk accused me of something i didnt do! I came to back for him to show the videos and he wouldnt do it someone contact me i need a apology or im not going to let it go
I like it so much I'm still in the parking lot but I might go get some ice cream so I shop here a lot sometimes homemade ice cream just a little bit better than the store by
This place is literally the best. 24/7 great prices with friendly staff, a clean store. Not sure how I would actually go shopping with my schedule without this place.
Store apparently has the right to deny your purchase of alcohol, even if the the other party has done nothing to show they are responsible for it. I used to like this place, but Monique and the night manager ruined that for me. He had no problem checking her out Every time we passed by him though. F this store
They need a big sign outside that says “we do not accept credit” good prices but was bummed out after shopping to find out they don’t except credit cards. Wouldn’t of been a big deal but at this time of the month I only had credit to use for groceries. Big waist of time. No signs or anything saying they don’t accept credit.
My fiance and I shop here regularly, they have great prices and a wide variety of food. Today, however, was the first time we have had a negative experience but it was due to the cashiers lack of customer service. I believe her name was Erin J, as marked on our receipt. When we got in line and started to put our groceries on the conveyor belt, she took a while to acknowledge us as she was too busy gossiping with another employee. We had two separate transactions and I paid for the one that had a 12 pack of beer, and she asks "can I see both of your ID's? " to which I replied "why do you need to see both? " she never answered my question and my fiance came back from bagging groceries with his ID when he overheard our interaction. We are both over 21 so this is besides the point, but not only was she rude, I have never had ANYONE ask for both of our ID's while purchasing alcohol or with anyone else. I see another reviewer here who has had the same issue but I am not sure if it was with the same employee. We would not stop shopping due to this experience, but we will certainly be steering clear if we see her again.
I love to shop here, it's little bit different grocery store compare to other. One problem is that, they don't take credit cards.which I use the most. Only cash, PC or debit.
The manager asks us all for our IDs when our friend behind us in line bought a bottle of wine. It was an entirely separate transaction. Apparently it’s winco managers job to make sure adults are all 21 if there friend is buying alcohol? I guess don’t go here if you wanna buy alcohol as an adult.
Really like this store, wish they would put one in San Diego like st the closed Fry's building so I wouldn't have to drive 30 miles round trip.
