My kids and I had nowhere to go so we end up going to this location at first when I got to this place the staff seem to treat you okay but as time continued they started acting kind funny but still trying to be professional at the same time …. SMH. At the same time you think that you are safe here but really it’s a prison but just in a different form they say they are there to help yeah maybe there are but to only certain people… They were suppose to take me to get clothes something like a (Salvation Army) place but of course I never got to go something always came up when it was my turn to go but then all the other Mothers got to go and pick out costumes for there kids and then come down In there costumes but of course my kids didn’t have one and it made my kids feel funny they even started crying that really hurts to see your kids upset and crying once again I had to take it because I had no where else to go the good thing is that I did have my own room but the bunk beds was really hard on my back smh…. All the other Morher’s got bags of clothes my kids only got some socks and two pairs of shorts and 2 pairs of pajamas so I guess they pick and choose who get the good clothing with the tags on it … they let you use the phone but sometimes they vibes make you feel uncomfortable so sometimes I wouldn’t use the phone or I would wait until another shift came smh …. They say you couldn’t bring food in or drinks but other Mother’s were bringing it right in I don’t understand that but when me and my kids would go out on a outing and come back they would check my bags my kid book bag and snack pack … SOUNDS LIKE DISCRIMINATION TO ME I DIDNT LIKE HOW THEY MADE ME FEEL BUT ONCE AGAIN I HAD NOWHERE ELSE TO GO WHEN YOU ARE IN SITUATION LIKE THIS YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT I FEEL EVERYONE SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY EVEN IF MY SITUATION IS DIFFERENT FROM THE NEXT MOM OBVIOUSLY WE ARE HERR FOR A REASON…. The longer you stay there you start seeing there true colors… I HAD CLASSES THAT I WAS SUPPOSE TO TAKE WHENEVER IT WAS TIME TO TAKE MY CLASSES NONE OF THE THE STAFF REMEMBERED BUT WHEN ITS TIME TO TAKE THERE CLASSES THAT THEY WANT YOU TO TAKE THEY WERE ON POINT AND ON TIME. NOT FAIR TO ME ONCE AGAIN DISCRIMINATION…. ITS JUST SO MUCH A PERSON CAN TAKE AND I WAS FED UP BECAUSE IT WAS ALOT OF DISCRIMINATION GOING ON UP THERE BUT ONCE AGAIN THEY TRY TO BE PROFESSIONAL BUT I KNEW THE REAL…. SO I LEFT AND TALKING ABOUT BEING PROFESSIONAL ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS WAS DISCUSSING MY INCOME AND BUSINESS WITH ANOTHER MOTHER UP THERE THAT IS A HIPPA LAW YOU CANT DO THAT HOW IS THE STAFF MEMBER TALKING ABOUT ME AND MY BUSINESS TO ANOTHER MOTHER UP THERE WOW … I WELL DEFINITELY BE HANDLING THAT SITUATION THATS AGAINST THE LAW …. DAMN THE STAFF MEMBER TELLING MY BUSINESS WOW HOW DO YOU THINK THAT MAKES ME FEEL …. YOU CANT TRUST NOBODY NOT EVEN THE PEOPLE THAT CALM TO WANT TO HELP YOU I DIDNT FEEL SAFE AT THAT PLACE MY GUT FEELING WAS RIGHT IF YOU ARE IN A SITUATION PLEASE TRY AND WORK IT OUT WITH YOUR PARTNER IF YOU CAN BUT IF NOT THEN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE THE STAFF WILL TALK YOUR BUSINESS… HIPPA LAW CANNOT DO THAT I DONT CARE IF YOU ARE NON - PROFIT OR NOT YALL WAS WRONG…SMH WHEREVER YOU DO GO TO THIS PLACE…. I REALLY CANT BELIEVE THAT THEY LET THIS STAFF MEMBER TALK MY BUSINESS SO IF SHE IS TALKING MY BUSINESS I WONDER WHAT ELSE IS BEING SAID ABOUT THE OTHER STAFF AND MOTHERS.

If you find yourself in a situation of uncertainty, desperation, or confusion, I strongly advise against considering this facility.

Their apparent neglect in changing water filters for over a year is disgusting. Additionally, the presence of bed bugs poses a significant risk to health and safety. The condition of their refrigerators, often contain spoiled food. They have a policy against bringing in clean, organic food/snacks too.

The absence of a shade tent for the outdoor playground is problematic especially on hot days. The lack of childcare and early childhood education, as initially promised, is also questionable as to where their funding is being used.

The restriction on using personal devices to seek supplementary support services and housing is also highly problematic and extremely unnecessary.

The ongoing scrutiny and searches of personal belongings, as a response to their questionable clientele, is indicative of an environment that may not align with our expectations or values and safety.

Lastly, despite claims of on-site domestic violence education (like the early childhood education and daycare), is non existent. In light of these observations, I encourage you to diligently explore alternative options. Your quest for a nurturing and secure environment for your family deserves nothing less. This establishment, unfortunately, falls short of those expectations.

Keep looking! Don’t go to this place.

This organization truly cares and does a great job empowering women. The staff is friendly and always willing to help in anyway possible.

This place is amazing! Since day one I was treated with so much love and respect. I remember the first time I walked in to this place to meet up with Sandra just remembering that day brings tears to my eyes! Sandra was amazing such a caring and loving person i will forever be thankful. I also want to thank Angel he truly is an Angel he has been great support and always has time to listen to me. I thank God for finding this place thank you for helping my girls and myself. God bless you guys for everything
