Wright's Field reviews
10We went to Wright's Field to take family pictures with a professional photographer. The terrain was great and there are all kinds of different backdrops for great photo opportunities. The photos turned out great and we have received a lot of wonderful comments on them and several people wanting to know the location of the photo shoot. Wright's Field is also well known by the locals for walking, hiking, biking and various other activities. I really like the versatility of the area and would recommend it for anyone looking for a place to do family photos.
Wright’s Field in Alpine California is. 230 acre nature reserve. It has approximately 26 trails that cross back and forth through the reserve that are used for hiking, dog walking, trail running, and mountain biking. Not really a destination to visit but great for locals to run and walk their dogs.
Great place to hike, especially for beginners. So sad that they are trying to commercialize and make this area a park/baseball fields plus apartments. UGH. I really hope that does not happen.
Tragically I've never really felt that sort of "community" feeling in all the time we have lived here in Alpine.
We moved from OB where we had good friends. Our dog had his own friends. Oddly, outside of our friends.
HOWEVER, I came to Wright's on a Tues AM before work and there were people! It was awesome! Loads of well behaved, beautiful dogs.
Everyone was cordial and respectful of our "new norms". I have to say, "Foot insert into mouth" it's going to be your new home for awhile.
Alpine, good to meet you. I'm sorry we did not meet sooner. You seem like a lot of fun.
P. S. Whom ever is responsible for the trash cans at the front, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!
It's a field alright! Plenty of directions you can go and still have a fun light easy adventure. Got some cool informational placards about the local ecology. Bunch of cute dog walkers as well
Wrights Field in Alpine is a great place to take your dog for a walk. It is also a nice place to hike or to take a stroll by yourself or a friend. It is accessible off Southgrade road or off Arnold Way with the street by the post office.
Beautiful, open space. We didn’t make it too far down the trail as we got there just before sunset but it was a nice walk with the pup and family time. Will be back soon!
Amazing place to hike. I've seen coyotes, rattlesnakes, and tarantulas here. Tons of fun!
Love this beautiful park! So nice to have open space in the middle of Alpine where we can walk for hours and many miles on a nice sunny day!
Great spot for an easy stroll through a wide open space. Pretty flat with lots of smaller path options aside from the main trail. It's a hidden gem nestled in an Alpine neighborhood.
