We got our amazing German Shepherd from Jan and Mike. He has a wonderful temperament and he is absolutely gorgeous. He is so sweet and we love him dearly. He is so well trained and just an all around perfect dog. This is what you get from top notch breeding. Jan and Mike are amazing and it shows in their fantastic dogs.

Jan and Mike were so great during the entire process. They truly care about their dogs more than any other breeder I have encountered. They only breed the best dogs and they take the time to make sure their puppies and dogs are healthy and taken care of before and after they go to their new homes. We have placed a deposit for a female German Shepherd from Wustenberger-Land German Shepherds (Jeannette and Michael Kempkes) current litter of puppies. We were welcomed to their home and saw the litter and can’t wait for our puppy to be old enough to bring home. I would recommend Wustenberger-Land German Shepherds to anyone interested in getting a German Shepherd that is genetically tested and has German blood lines. Previously, we purchased a German Shepherd puppy from them Thanksgiving of 2004. We were referred to them by a co-worker who was once a German Shepherd breeder herself and was familiar with top quality ethical German Shepherd breeders. After visiting the Kempkeses with our former breeder friend who asked alot of questions, we were satisfied that the Kempkeses are highly ethical breeders with the dog’s and their client's best interest as their primary concern. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. Our German Shepherd was beautiful, strong, big, healthy and had the most perfect temperament of any dog I have ever had. Michael trained our puppy when she was about 8 months old over a 3 week period of time. Our German Shepherd became a super obedient dog who protected and loved our family. Our dog also loved our cats (who were equally in love with her) and our other dog. She was gentle with children, animals and guests to our house. I have recommended Wustenberger-Land German Shepherds to everyone who has asked about our dog and has wanted one just like her. I will post a picture of our future new puppy as soon as I have it.

We have 2 dogs from Wustenberger and 2 from another breeder/trainer out of New York. The Wustenberger difference is night and day, compared to 2 we bought in NY. Temperament, Conformation and Intelligence is important. Could not be any happier with the process in obtaining each pup. I spoke with Jenette each time and got quite the education from her. I would recommend Wustenberger Shepherds to anyone that wants quality shepherds.

Bought a puppy from them. Best decision of my life. It is a bit more money than other places, but you quickly realize why when you arrive. They have been doing this their entire life and the ranch is AMAZING. I have been calling them non-stop with a million questions and they are always happy to help. I plan on having it trained by Michael once its a bit older. I completely recommend Michael and Jeannette.

We had a great experience while working with Michael and Jeanette. We bought a well trained male, Argos, for protection. We wouldn't change a thing. They are very passionate and responsible about their breeding program and who they sell to. I think this passion is misunderstood by some, as being rude. I will definitely consider them for my next dog.

We purchased a 20 month old male GSD from Jeanette and Michael in January 2019. Xerxes has been the absolute perfect addition to our family and continues to amaze us daily. Once we were clients of the Kempkes I have had every single text and phone call answered within minutes, and they have both advised me every step of the way through the transition to bringing Xerxes home. Any time that you bring a new dog into a home there is a transition period and having Jeanette a phone call or text away made everything so much smoother. She talked me through every question and concern, no matter how ridiculous they must have seemed. Now that Xerxes has fully bonded with our family we are simply enamored with him. Not only is he hands down the best looking German Shepherd I have ever seen, he is equally even tempered and loving, as he is alert and aware, he is intelligent and eager to learn what I expect of him as well. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to purchase Xerxes from Jeanette and Micheal and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a well breed German Shepherd. We have also had Michael over for training on a few occasions and every time we have gained a thorough knowledge and understanding on how to work with Xerxes. We look forward to continuing to work with Jeanette and Michael in the future and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else for another dog in the future!

My husband Paul and I purchased our German Shepherd "Ella" back in November, 2016 from Wustenberger-Land German Shepherds (Jeannette and Michael Kempkes). Ella is now about 2 1/2 years old. I must say that Ella is the greatest family dog, hiking dog AND working dog! She is intelligent, kind, happy and content. She "loves the world" - YET protective if need be. She is always ready to please and her "job" is to care of us. We've taken her to events, dinners, parks, camping and hiking where she must be (and is) obedient, compliant and gentle. We did our own training with the help of a local club where we took her for classes. She is a perfect family member who is a delight to have in our home. Chewing items not hers. NOPE! Barking, just to bark. NOPE! Jumping on furniture? NOPE (consistency is key - she just learns quickly, then knows). Our son brings his small 12 lb dog by at times for a week stay and Ella is gentle with her. We can leave them alone in the house when we are gone. As far as Jeannette and Michael - Each and EVERY time I've reached out via email or phone call for anything, we've been given their professional advise and suggestions. Communication has always been 100%, prompt, kind and professional. They definitely take care of their previous clients. We are just as important now, as we were when we purchased Ella.
So, I'd say.once Ella is a senior, we will without doubt drive back to California (15 hours) to pick up a younger pup for her (and for us). Could not be happier with our experience. Thank you, Jeannette and Michael!

I was at the park a few days ago and witnessed a dog being abused he was slapped right in front of me and some other lady. (which I noticed she also put a review. Unless there’s a 3rd witness). I noticed that the dog barked and a guy just slapped him hard twice! And pulled up on the collar after the dog barked again.just want to make sure that it stays on here because this is unfair to animals.they can’t speak.we are their voice.it looks like the owners like to bully people and accuse them of doing things from what I see on the review responses.

I just called this place to help my dog get trained and he was SO RUDE if I could rate them 0 stars that's what they deserve, they shouldn't be in business with that attitude

I have purchased some of the most outstanding dogs from Wustenberger-Land German Shepherds! What can I say they are the BEST OF THE BEST! I have many Wustenberger-land beauties and they are now my go to place for everything! I have purchased puppies and adults some started with training and some fully titled! They have showed my dogs, they have trained and titled my dogs, they are truly the only people I would trust with my dogs. There kennels are spotless as well as their home! Both Jeanette and Michael are so knowledgable I can call them with any question and they know the answer! All my dogs have had not one health problem, and I am quite happy to say all my hips and elbows are OFA excellent and A stamped with the German SV! The temperaments of these dogs are outstanding and I think they are some of the most sound temperamented dogs I have EVER owned! I love that they feed high quality food in addition to the fact that they are very concerned with the well being of all their dogs and they give good advice as to what they recommend for flea and tick remedies, hearth worm prevention, vaccines, etc! I don't know of a trainer better than Michael and none with the experience he has! All my dogs I have gotten from them have been the top in their classes and shows! I can't say enough about both of them and I dearly love them both and couldn't be happier with all the dogs I have gotten from them, being able to say I have gotten all my dogs from the same breeder in a 20 year period speaks volume of their quality!

I called this place and the lady that answered was very RUDE. I decided not to buy from them because of that lady's attitude.

We were hesitant at first because of all the scams online, but Jeanette helped us feel comfortable about the whole process. I would recommend Wustenbergerland. We love our pup, Lucy!
