XL Aviation, Livermore CA

Great school and great instructors. Came in with zero hours and got my private pilot certificate within 3 months. Also received my instrument rating, commercial single and multi engine, as well as CFI. Also got to learn aerobatics and tail wheel flying along the way. I am very happy with my decision to come to XL aviation for all my flight training, and would recommend to anyone wanting to do flight training.

Can’t say anything but good about XL. I got my PPL here, tailwheel and high-performance endorsements, learned aerobatics and competed in aerobatic competitions using XL’s airplanes, rented airplanes to fly cool places like Lake Tahoe and Catalina island, currently working on instrument rating and commercial license. Instructors are professional and communicate, the hangar is nice place to spend time in.

Had a great, professional experience today. Excellent instruction matched with a very nice Pitts aircraft. The Pitts intro flight was incredible! Highly recommend the experience for pilots wanting to safely explore aerobatics. Lastly, the flight was a dream come true, something I've always wanted to do!

I began taking flight lessons here back in 2021 with their Cessna fleet. I went from new Student Pilot to Private Pilot and Instrument Rated in about one year. Whether you want to take a slower path or faster path, be a hobby pilot or have aspirations to be an airline pilot, XL caters to both. I'm currently now at college with aspirations to be an airline pilot, and without XL none of this would be possible. XL is also a great community of pilots with tons of experience from all around the industry. If you're thinking about starting flying, shoot them an email and grab an intro flight, you will not regret it.

Outstanding School! John De Gennaro is one the best instructors I’ve come across in 40 years of flying.if you want to learn to fly the Pitts this is the place to go. I’m already making plans to go back.
