Yamariki Sushi reviews
17Super slow for take out. Even with a low crowd a 2 roll order takes a hour. Worth going somewhere else.
Outside dining was excellent! Food and service was great! Pet friendly if you want to bring along your furbabies️
Great family spot. My daughters (7 and 9) love their bento salmon teriyaki box with Tempura. We love the sushi. Great, fresh seafood.
Highly recommend it. And they have happy hour 30% off rolls!
The food was good even though I thought they forgot about one of our rolls bc it took so long for it to arrive compared to the other rolls.
Sushi was decent though inconsistent in size and quality from week to week (larger portions of nigiri closer to closing - no bueno).
What I wanted to mention is that after picking up the exact same order for several weeks in a row, they hired a new employee who completely got my order wrong — instead of accepting what I said, the manager/owner (older Asian lady who I assume is) questioned me and the employee in front of me like a judge then begrudgingly fixed it. On my way out, I noticed yet another part of the order was wrong and went back - the owner refused to fix it even those the wrong items were twice the cost of what I ordered. She said they were closing soon (it was really in 45 minutes) and didn’t have time to make it (baked dish that takes 15 min) and to come back tomorrow and she would make it “for free”. She never offered to refund me the difference ($40 for two rolls instead of $17 appetizer that I ordered). She also argued that it’s not a menu item though they made it for me the preceding week. The initial order came to $200 and I only ordered $75 of items. They brought it down begrudgingly to $100 after part of the errors were fixed.
This was so disappointing after several okay experiences. I won’t be coming back. Just hope that they don’t mess up your order, or you will have to haggle with them to get it fixed and treated like you’re trying to pull a fast one on them.
WORD OF ADVICE FOR THE OWNER: THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, REFUND FOR ANY MISTAKES, DON’T INTERROGATE CUSTOMERS, TRAIN YOUR NEW EMPLOYEES BETTER, AND ESPECIALLY DON’T DRESS THEM DOWN IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES.
THE MOST HORRIBLE SUSHI PLACE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE WORLD. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. A FAMILY OF 7 MIND YOU THIS WAS AT least a 250.00 plus tip check or more. We came in an hour before they closed. AND THEY TOOK US IN. IF THEY KNEW THEY HAD TO CLOSE WE WOULD HAVE GLADLY LEFT IF WE KNEW THEH WERE GOING TO BE PRESSURING US OUT AND CLEANING, OVER US AND MAKING US FEEL IN A HURRY. MY STOMACH HURT FROM THE HORRENDOUS FOOD THEY GAVE US. I GOT A HORRIBLE STOMACH ACHE BECAUSE THE RUDE SERVER WOULD DARE ASK US IF WE WERE DONE WITH THE SOY SAUCE OR THIS OR THAT TO PUT IT AWAY, NEVER AGAIN. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ELSE WHERE. GO HAVE GREAT SUSHI THIS ONE WAS NOT IT.
I had higher hopes for this place. Nothing special about the food and the presentation is not up to par with the other local sushi joints.
Delicious sushi roll, I had the Red Bird. Pleasant seating outside, where we could have our dog with us. The service was top notch. Food is a little on the pricey side, but worth the food quality.
This is a very nice sushi place and not too crowded. The prices are very fair and the service top notch.
Took my daughter to lunch. What a great place! She said she wants to move to Carlsbad because it was so yummy
I have a love hate relationship with this place. The quality of the sushi is usually pretty good, the owner is very friendly and fun, but you never know what service you'll get and how long it will take to get a table or your food. We usually now only order the food delivered to us with the mind set it could take a lot longer than it stated and if we tell them no avocado (Food Allergy) that we may get it anyway. The reason we keep order from them though is because we can't find as good of quality, so we are OK with dealing with it. If their service was managed better I'd give them a 5 star.
Great food and atmosphere. Prices are comparable to other sushi restaurants. Sashimi is delicious and so is the Oyster shooter
I can agree with many of the other reviews. The food is great but its really a hit or miss with the service and what order you will get. This last time they handed me the wrong order, took it back & forgot to give me the correct order. When my husband told them, they brought out another wrong order. How embarrassing. This has happened multiple times and I can honestly say I will not be returning.
I really hoped this would be my new go-to sushi spot, but they need some big help on service. Our waitress was not very attentive and my request for NO onions on my daughter’s chicken yakisoba somehow turned into ADD onions. She was not very happy. The sushi was average, and for a not-so-busy Sunday evening, the sushi came out very slowly. At least 20 minutes after placing our order. Upon our exit there was no goodbye or thank you. Times are tough on restaurants, but good service is key. Yamakari needs some work.
Will not go back. All food was gross. Had Ramen, sushi rolls (baked and raw), nothing was good.
Please don't be available for takeout if you guys are so severely understaffed. There were 6 people in line waiting to be helped so all of the sushi sat there ready to go as one person tried to ring up each to go party in line. Just be dine in only if your to go option is going to run that poorly
Ultra slow service and in very efficient -4 requests for a beer and wine- the fish that was supposed to be TUNA-It was not tuna-zero taste and the texter was totally off- would tuna would stain the rice and white root PINK. Some sort of dye I'm guessing! Find another place for SUSHI!
