My son's surgery for a progressive eye disease is still pending at the time of this writing, so this testimonial is based on the consult.   Having visited no fewer than six physicians prior to Dr. Rabinowitz, one another specialist in corneal cross-linking, I am not exaggerating when I say that his office - and he himself - was hands-down the best experience we had during the six-week consultation process.   The staff was friendly, helpful, and responsive, and both Dr. Rabinowitz and Dr. Oleynikov were professional, caring, and not only fully explained everything, but actually listened to us.   Dr. Rabinowitz also showed a wonderful sense of humor, and likewise had a tone to his voice that was so calm and relaxing that at one point, after he left the room, my son looked at my husband and said, "everything he just said should have been terrifying, but I feel totally relaxed right now. "  Further, Dr. Oleynikov was the first of all the physicians we met with, after no fewer than five prior full eye exams, who discovered that my son has allergy eyes which are the cause of his constant itchiness and dryness (and with my son's diagnosis, eye-rubbing is catastrophic, so this determination was important and shame on all the optometrists and ophthalmologists who didn't notice - or even really look for it, and the allergy drops the doctor immediately prescribed have gone a long way in the two weeks since to give my son relief).   Further, he was the first one to ask the question we've been asking ourselves since my son's diagnosis three months ago:   "why now?   how did he go from a normal exam three years ago, to advanced and severe keratoconus, later than usually diagnosed with no family history? " at which point he looked closer [which was the point at which he discovered the allergies].   He was also the first to suggest what we've wondered the entire time - if it was related to the brain surgery he had three years ago, three weeks prior to his last normal eye exam.

We left the office confident in our decision to go with this facility for my son's surgery, which was scheduled for a week and a half later (at the time of this writing, four days from now).   If afforded the opportunity, I will write another testimonial after the procedure, but on the basis of consult, this was by far the best experience - and the ONLY one after which we felt like we were finally in good hands.

By the way, this was also the only place that gave us the cost upfront, before we even saw the doctors. Others, we had to cajole it out of them and in one case, still haven't received the requested information five weeks post-consult despite five requests.
