Yummy Bánh Bao reviews
12This place is going downhill, their famous custard lava charcoal bun no longer lava. This is second time having the quality issues. I think either the baker changed their recipe or they changed the baker. It's not the same anymore. The custard is so little and it's not even lava. Very disappointing.
I live in San Jose, CA but have a friend that visit from Los Angeles that give me a box of banh bao. It is taste very good and even know after 1 week keep in refrigerator, it is still take great! Wish they have a store in San Jose and their price is very reasonable too.
Great place to get banh bao. Very fast service, but you might have to wait as they usually have a line out the door.
Thế banh bao is very good to eat but the customer services is a very very poor. Nó recomment to come this place when the owner would not care for the customers. You come to see your self.
I had the worse experience here. We were on vacation and I came in for the first time to get some banh boa for breakfast the next day. Grew up in Southern California and haven’t been to Anaheim for years. I wanted to reminisce my child hood when my mom use to take me to Westminster every weekend.
My husband is mix and he totally doesn’t look Vietnamese but I’m totally 100% Vietnamese. There was a girl on the register an older lady and another customer. The girl on the register was talking in Vietnamese out loud to whoever was acknowledging her that I was going to take 30mins to know what I want. I guess she had no idea I understood her. I didn’t let it bother me because my mission was to have these buns for breakfast. I ordered one box of bbq pork $13 and a bag of peanuts ($2). My husband then intend to pay with a debit card and the girl asked if we have cash or we would have to spend $25 worth of food. So I end up having to get another box of buns. Total to $28. After leaving I felt like I was forced to buy way too much food and was ripped off and terribly criticize by my own people. I would never return to this establishment and will tell everyone I know of what I experienced.
Always a line, but I understand why it’s called yummy. All their bánh baos are all so good.
Great food that met my expectations, even compared to food on the other side of the United States.
I honestly dunno why my cousin and my dad urged me to try and bring home some buns from this place. I guess they got it from hyped up reviews. We came and they only had the top 5 on the menu available. I got the meat buns to try, since they are the most basic to go for. Bun skin is mediocre, meat filling inside also mediocre. I got mini bánh cam, and they are very good, but they are also sold at other shops so this shop isn’t that special.
We like chè 3 màu from here btw.
It is as advertised, a yummy banh bao/siopao/manapua/salapao etc. Quick and easy shop to pick up a soft white bun, filled with delectable goodies such as sweet taro or savory meats. There is also a choice selection of drinks available and as it is located in Little Saigon, the cafe sua da (Vietnamese Coffee) is s t r o n g.
Worth a try or visit if you're next to the mall and want a simple lunch fix.
Yummy banh bao is also a cash only establishment
Overall, the quality & freshness are good. But I knock it down 1 star because it is too sweet. We ordered a box of the combination. The dough is sweet, the meat is sweet. We can all use less sugar in our food.
Love their salted egg buns. Right portion and reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place for some snacks on the drive back to wherever your home.
Got the Banh Bao here, number 1 which is great. $12 for 9 of them and there is always a line. The vegetarian ones are also great too. Very niche restaurant that focuses on just these buns.
