Z & Y Restaurant reviews
16Absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, the service was speedy and efficient. The fried chicken in the Chicken with Explosive Chili Pepper was perfect and perhaps the best fried chicken I’ve ever had: crispy but moist and flavorful. The Spicy Beef in Mini Flaming Pot was delicious as well. Every appetizer and entree we had was great. Highly Recommended!
The explosive chicken was overloaded with a medley of dried red peppers and Sichuan peppercorns. It was not too spicy but definitely experienced the familiar numbing sensation from the peppercorns.
We came here not realising it was quite famous! Happened to be here just as they opened, by the time we were seated there was a queue around the block! Food was amazing, I was brought back to Beijing right away. Great service too, and a perfect location in Chinatown!
Pretty much the same food as we get for 20% of the price at our downtown Chinese restaurant. If you want to pay 5× more just because it's In a city feel free. Also some of the worst service I've ever had. Not once did anybody ask if we needed anything else, check how things were, fill water, etc. Not sure why I left a tip at all but I did
Food was pretty tasty, however service was slow and subpar. Messed up our order several times. Very rushed for us to pay, but very slow to get our food. Also, ordered a dish, waited and eventually were brought the check without our dish. I would probably not visit again.
First time in San Francisco and this restaurant was recommended by the concierge. The food was amazing and portions were more than enough.
I ordered the Sichuan Chicken with White Rice and the Hot Tofu Soup along with Jasmine tea. The chicken was decent, but not spicy enough and the dish was 75 percent peppers. The soup was basic hot and sour you'd find at most restaurants. The tiny bowl of rice that was less than a cup in volume cost $2.95. The tea was just regular bagged jasmine. This place is over-hyped and not worth the money.
Great food and excellent service. Giant portions on both of our entrees. It was fun to eat outside on a beautiful day.
We were extremely discriminated upon and sat us and refused to take our order so we got up and left! Have never had this happen before and happy to spend my money elsewhere. We went to Grant Place Restaurant and had a fabulous authentic dinner.
This place is popular Chinese restaurant. We tried going for dinner but the lines was long. We came back the next day for lunch and lucky enough we got a table after a few minutes of waiting. The service is fast. The food is great. Better compared to the one we have for dinner. This is a must try restaurant. The shell food is so good. I surely gonna go back to this place. Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious. Expansive menu that was difficult to choose from! The grilled fish and vegetable fried rice dishes were awesome. We dined outside and enjoyed great service.
Very average food, expensive prices. I wanted a 2nd beer but our waiter never came by.at all.all night. I got one single glass of water, was never asked if our food was good or if we needed anything else. $105 for 2 people. Expect a bit more for that price
This place used to be my go to restaurant visiting San Fran. The food quality now is just about average but the price went up a lot. We had our brand new car parked right in front of the restaurant and got a scratch. In general, don’t park your car in Chinatown, especially if it is new. It will very likely be targeted for damage.
Great spot for Szechuan food and everything is beautifully presented! I got the spicy cauliflower in mini flaming pot, fish filet with flaming chili oil, beef with daikon and truffle fried rice. I highly recommend the sliced garlic pork to start because of the interesting cucumber and pork balance. The Beef with Daikon was my fav entree with the perfect amount of spice level. They have dine in and patio options but we opted for the patio since it was a nice day out!
I came here many times, and the place is very comfortable for eating with friends. We ordered boil fish, and it was really nice. Awesome Sichuan cuisine. The waitress was kind and friendly. Would come again defintely.
