Zel's Del Mar

Went to the bar area and had the tater tots and margarita pizza. Average quality. First glass of wine was spoiled but they replaced it and it was still mediocre. Better places in the area.

Food was inventive and very good; served in a sparky, bistro style environment. We spent on the high end, but there are easier price points where the food is also very good. Plenty of families with minor children, including us; but also an adult only "bar" area for those who want a different experience. Highly recommended.

First time visit to Zel's. Walked in and placed a take-out order after taking in a sunset at the beach. Customer service was great. Had a small hiccup with the POS system when paying, but staff was attentive and got it worked out quickly. While waiting for the food was able to enjoy some wonderful live acoustic guitar, and the patio was pleasantly warmed with fire. Food was delicious, but a shame I couldn't stay to enjoy the ambiance. Will be back soon!

Came here yesterday when it was raining. Such a nice atmosphere and the food was amazing! Our server Alexa was extremely nice as well.:)

Great place, live music really nice servers. The bison burger is really yummy! They were out of oysters so we tried the mussels in coconut curry. They were soooo good!

Great food! Great drink! Very friendly staff! Nice atmosphere. Great place to grab food and hang out in a relaxing location!

Nice ambience, shame part of order was very late but they didnt charge. Nice chicken salad. Great area to eat after horse racing

Happy Hour is always fun, and their dinner menu is subperb! Any one of their Fresh Fish entrees is always a winner, or their flatbeds (Sausage one is wonderful) are tasty if you’re looking for a bite while in the cozy bar area.
Speaking of which, they make the best Margarita in town and their Moscow Mule is also off the charts.

If y’all are ever in San Diego go check out Zel’s! The food was amazing! The owners and staff are so attentive and really care about everyone’s experience at the restaurant!

Food was excellent. Appetizers, entree and dessert so delicious! Fish tacos is a must as well as the blackberry drink!

Excellent service and delicious food. Our first time yesterday and it was a very cute, intimate, relaxed vibe restaurant. Felt like a locals favorite.
Our server did an excellent job and our mushroom arugula pizza, ahi salad, and baguette were all yummy.

Good food, drinks and portions! Only thing is service can be slow and they won't let you know if they're out of something when you order, they just substitute it and expect you to embrace the change. What if you are allergic, don't like that vegetable, or expect something else? If items weren't $20-30+ it would be more reasonable. You should expect to get what you asked for when paying a premium like this

Zels is my go to lunch spot, Sitting on the patio, in Beautiful Del Mar what else could you ask for. Top notch service, friendly staff

We make it a point to eat at Zel’s every time we visit from Colorado. We absolutely love the patio and welcoming environment, along with the delicious margs, honey sriracha chicken sliders, and French baguette, of course! We couldn’t recommend Zel’s more highly

Great brunch we had the breakfast sandwich, and the breakfast burrito. The breakfast sandwich was very good. The breakfast burrito was okay. Nothing special. But the sandwich was awesome. Highly recommend it

So good! The pizza with spicy sausage is incredible. The French toast with preserves is just the best thing I've tasted in a while. It's filled with an in-house cheese (I forget how to spell it) and if you pair it with eggs and bacon.pure HEAVEN! The Little Joy Coffee Café is on-site and their coffee is AHHH-MAZING! A vanilla latte made with almond milk made my morning. The two places compliment each other well. Will definitely be back!
