Zia Gourmet Pizza reviews
17This place is one of my absolute favorites in SD. The owner is such food people and the pizza is some of the best I've had. They use pastry flour and some of the best ingredients on top I've had. They always have amazing new styles with new pestos and cheeses and veggies and meats. Always a treat coming here.
Great pizza spot with plenty options for everyone’s dietary needs. You can get pizza by the slice, a whole damn pizza offered in 2 sizes. They also let you do half and half. I can’t wait to go back and try more pizza on top of that great customer service!
This is a wonderful hole in the wall pizza place. And they have a variety of assortment of unique Pizzas that you can get by the slice.
Great slices, they have some classics and some more experimental creations, dough is fantastic (you’ll want to eat the crust), more than a dozen beers on tap plus a decent selection of soft drinks, GREAT service, upscale atmosphere for a slice house (they also do full pies in two sizes) the owner works the counter too so he really cares what you think, great spot overall and very reasonable prices. Check it out and you’ll see what it has the rating it does.
I always try a different pizza every time I visit and I’m never disappointed. Every slice is gourmet and delicious. I moved away from San Diego and this is the only pizza spot I miss.
Best pizza ever! It’s seriously so delicious, in highly recommend it! Fresh ingredients, full of flavor! Pizza by the slice and by the pie. Craft beer on tap
San Diego is known for good pizza, but this slice shop stands out from the rest. Though it's located in ultra-trendy Normal Heights, Zia isn't a new kid on the block. The restaurant has been a local staple for over 10 years, and it's almost as if its owner is known for his outgoing personality through the community. Inside Zia an airy vibe is accompanied by eccentric art and decorations that somehow make the place feel like home. Slices aren't as big as some New York style joints - but expect a fantastic variety of culinary masterpieces. Crust has a delicious buttery quality and is neither too crispy nor chewy. Expect anything with marscapone to melt in your mouth.
If you're looking for the quintessential neighborhood hangout, this is it. For ten years I've eaten the best pizza ever. Even after leaving for years they still remember me and my favorite slice (eggplant, the best). Consistently amazing and daring for so long. What a success!
How does this place have 4.8 stars? The crust is like a saltine cracker, and half their pizzas are topped with turkey pastrami, which is disgusting. I tried to like this place, but it's awful.
Amazing pizza and awesome staff. They’re the only place I could find open late on a weekday too.
Amazing food made from an owner who you can see truly takes pride in what he does. An amazing family run restaurant, as a vegan this place is a gem.
I was the last customer of the day. The owner treated me like I was the first customer of the day. He was very likeable and personable. I wish them all the best success! The pizza was really good! Definitely going back to try their different specialties.
Super friendly staff. Good place to take your kid for a slice of pizza and soda, or a great place to have a local brew with a friend. I’ve enjoyed the pizza, and they also have a vegan option.
Super chill pizza place, think the guy that helped me was one of the owners. Nice and open space, tons of craft beer options. Pizza was fantastic. Nothing short of superb. These aren’t just your cheese and pepp slices (although pepp is an option,) these are thoughtfully put together pizzas. Top notch cheese, marscaponne, cream cheese, avocados and other local ingredients. I’ll be back, real soon.
The dough was frozen and not fresh you can taste it when we ate our pepporoni pizza. The bathrooms were dirty and no paper towels to dry your hands after washing. Very dirty place and we had been going there the past few years. We will not be going back anytime soon.
The best pizza.even if you're not a fan of pizza to begin with, with the variety of pizza that Zia offers, you're bound to find something you like. I don't like the typical pizza flavors, so the pesto butternut squash is a favorite of mine.
