Zion Lutheran Church shows great compassion for the homeless. On the campus of Zion Lutheran Church is the head quarters and Day Center for Family Promise of San Joaquin County. Zion Lutheran Church and St Anne's Episcopal Church along with other congregations in the county provide volunteers for Family Promise needed to help the homeless families with children get back on their feet.
Zion's congregation also shows compassion toward the homeless in downtown Stockton each Tuesday at St John's Episcopal Church. Volunteers provide clean clothes to the homeless using the portable showers in the parking lot.
Zion Lutheran Church is a very welcoming congregation full of compassion.
