Andromeda Transcultural Health reviews
8I have UNSUCCESSFULLY tried to speak with Dr. Martin regarding the failing health my Mother for over two weeks now. The service level is less than inadequate and this business should be immediately closed. BEWARE THEY ARE NOT IN THE HEALTH BUSINESS. From wrong numbers to blaming the patient for their incompetence.
Raquel is so nice, efficient, and I appreciate her follow through. Dr. Zinnes is kind and seem to really care about her patients.
This business is completely inadequate. Received multiple copies of the same bill, paid in full, continued receiving collection notices in the mail despite multiple calls to their billing office. My account is apparently up to date, but they continue to send collection notices. Receptionist and billing staff are unable to answer any questions or confirm why bills are being sent. My husband has not been there in months yet we keep receiving bills. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want continuous payments and your credit negatively affected despite paying on time.
I was a patient here for over two years.
I liked and appreciated the front desk staff, the nurses and the aides. Just not the actual doctors.
I had a general practitioner very briefly, who was not thorough, or empathetic, and basically therefore ineffective as a care provider.
My longer-term relationship was with Dr. Anca Zinnes. Initially I liked her enough. Over time and through more difficult times of health, however, she proved to be limited and very focused on herself and her experience of her patients, rather than the patient themselves.
In the face of the manifestation of my suffering from insomnia, for example, she irrationally reacted with apparent offense and would not provide a necessary and effective solution, in the form of an appropriate medication.
Significantly, Andromeda is intended to serve lower income individuals. When relevant, I politely but emphatically asserted my rights as a consumer of services. To this she appeared shocked and angry, literally name-calling me "entitled. " I doubt she would have used that tone or language at her private Chevy Chase practice.
I ultimately found her to be unprofessional and close to reckless in her response and lack of care, and essentially exhibiting classicism out of her own sense of very real 'entitlement. '
I share some of the sentiments of the other reviewers, primarily that it can be difficult to contact the offices on days when they’re busy. That said, I can always get ahold of Dr. Guzman via email by the end of the day, if not within an hour or so. The staff is friendly, and this is the best experience I’ve had with a doctor from a patient perspective. I’ll deal with the contact issues for that reason.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I went there for years when I lived near DC. As a Native American, it was important to me to have culturally sensitive health practitioners. Dr. Guzman is fantastic, and there's no one who I respect more. He and his staff were always caring, extremely intelligent, and professional!
The service was all right. However, once I had to cancel an appointment a week in advance, and I was told I would have to pay $50 for canceling. That hardly seems right.
After 20 yrs I was a client for this clinic, and they can found my medical records, how wonderful an unprofessionally they are
