Garden Asian Collections reviews
7Doesn't feel much different than any other spot of woods around Virginia or Maryland. Pretty and all, with a spot of bamboo here, and a weird different palm thing there. Doesn't feel very Asian. Not enough signs saying what things are, and even when they're are signs, unclear what plant they're talking about.
Beautifully laid out, with an amazing collection. This particular section of the arboretum has restrooms at the tip of the hill (where the parking is). "Hill" describes this section -it is on a fairly steep hill going down to the river (Anacostia). There is a gate at the bottom which leads to a riverside meadow.
Multiple paths that mostly interconnect. Beautiful, you almost forget you're still in the city! If you follow the China Valley path all the way down, you end up at the Anacostia River - there are some benches and picnic tables that would be perfect for a picnic.it is a bit of a steep path.
Our favorite collection of year round blossoms. Lots of paths to meander and explore as you wind your way down to the anacostia river. Note the path is steep if you have mobility issues.
There is a restroom at the parking lot.
Well kept but not as well designed as some other dedicated gardens in the area
Great and very beautiful garden. After going down the path you will find a beautiful view of the river.
The U. S. National Arboretum was established in 1927 by an Act of Congress, which is administered by the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service. The Arboretum has 446 acres with 9.5 miles of winding roadways. The Asian Collections is one of its major gardens. If you love plants, this is a must-see in the Washington D. C.area.
