We encountered this apartment complex purely by chance - greeted by Marcus and Kenny, they were very welcoming and set us up for a self-guided tour within minutes. Having seen the unit, we didn't hesitate to submit an application. Throughout the leasing/move-in process itself, Marcus was informative, patient, and accommodating - which was frankly important to me as I didn't want to take time off work. All in all, between the leasing office, plus the equally polite concierge team, I would recommend this team in a heartbeat.

Title: Exceptional Service at Ava NoMa

I recently had an outstanding experience with the maintenance team at Ava NoMa that I am compelled to share. When my dishwasher malfunctioned, my own troubleshooting efforts were in vain, leading me to submit a work order. The response from the maintenance team was impressively quick and attentive. Although the replacement unit initially wasn't the same as my previous model, Manager Jason Mosley's transparent communication about the inventory issue was reassuring, and he committed to finding a solution.

True to their word, after returning from a business trip, I discovered that Joseph from maintenance had not only remembered my request but had gone above and beyond to locate a similar dishwasher for my apartment. This level of personalized attention and service is rare and deserves recognition.

My sincere thanks to Jason and Joseph for their dedication and swift action. The Ava NoMa team has truly made my living experience here better than I could have expected. Kudos to the team at Ava NoMa! Thank you for your exceptional service.

I went to view their property today. I was so excited to see their 2bed rooms from talking to Sydney the virtual assistant prior to coming out! But I came out and didn't see anything there was no greeting I found someone they said ooh have a seat. Ohh okay cool. Waited. 10 min than they ask you questions that they already asked prior to you coming out & than are rude it's no way I could look at their apartments or better yet move where I feel uncomfortable

I normally don't leave reviews but the unresponsiveness is insane. I wanted to transfer from another Avalon community due to my job however can't seem to get ahold of anyone at the leasing office.did a self-tour of the noma and absolutely loved everything about it but the non-responsiveness really turns me off

Stopped in to visit my family over the Christmas holiday and encountered a Concierge named Brooke. She was the most helpful person ever. Above and beyond for my family and I. She made the visit to the building absolutely wonderful. She was extremely helpful and seemed to know everyone by name. I look forward to visiting again in the spring! Kudos Brooke and thanks for everything!

I love living at Ava Noma. The staff here is great especially Brooke at the front desk. She is amazing and always willing to go the extra mile. She’s a pleasure to have at the front desk.

I’ve been living in Ava for 6 months now and think it’s a great building. There are a few sketchy characters in the neighborhood but that has nothing to do with the building. The staff at the building are responsive and very kind. Maintenance requests may take a while, but they do a fantastic job. I had a problem with my washer/dryer and they ordered me a new one free of charge. Overall great building that is cheaper than most of the neighborhood.

Staff could not be more helpful. Marcus, Addis and Ramonia go out of their way to help and resolve issues. Great job! I have to also mention the outstanding housekeeping staff. The gym and common areas are always SPOTLESS! Well done and THANK YOU!

Overall, I had a good experience with Ava Noma. I never had any noise or safety complaints and never really had any issues with my apartment. However, the management tended to be unresponsive after moving in. If you need to speak to management, go directly to the office during working hours. Don’t bother to send an email or call. Also, when moving out make sure to do a full walk-through with a member of the Ava Noma team. I cleaned before moving out and then I got charged a $95 cleaning fee. After reaching out and waiting several weeks, I was refunded the $95. I’m happy I was refunded the money but I didn’t get an explanation as to why I was charged in the first place. All in all, I would suggest it as an apartment.

Special thanks to the lady at front desk today! I reached out to her because my key’s not working. It should be really fast to fix this single thing, but she took the time to help me fix all the rest of my LATCH access as well (without I mentioning it!) It’s really thoughtful of her, and a great surprise to come back home and discovering that all the rests are being updated!

Unfortunately, I have to change my review to 1 star, how does this $25 billion company allow residents to live without A/C for 5 days? It’s not fault to the maintenance team. I truly believe they try their best, but why would we expect anyone to go above and beyond when the building manager (who lives in the building) does NOTHING to voice to problems to the higher ups? ! Clearly the executive team, which lacks HIGHLY in diversity doesn’t care about the residents who pay thousands of dollars to live in the just over 6-7year old building. It is really upsetting because the location is perfect in DC, but the building manager and above that clearly doesn’t care about the actual living. I would not recommend living in this building or any building that is attached to AvalonBay!

Moved in 39 days ago, finding the broken bedroom lights and living room light switch, broken oven door, low pressure toilet and super loud machine room. After multiple requests for repair, it is still undone. The staff here are very polite; just wish the maintenance work can be actually done

I moved in a few days ago and am LOVING it. Very beautiful building as well as great staff that helps with any questions. Shoutout to Ramonia and the other staff for always being available to answer questions/help me out through this moving in process.

The customer service team here is fantastic but the building? Not so much. This poor team is practically putting lipstick on a pig. Here are some building issues that do not justify the ridiculous price the management company charges for these units:

1. There are CONSTANTLY leaks coming from the ceiling in the lobby.
2. The dog park is filthy and next to a sitting area that no one uses because it smells like dog poop.
3. The trash chutes don't work (this is super basic stuff) so trash piles up and it smells throughout the hallways.
4. Elevators break all the time.
5. All the finishes are incredibly cheap. The baseboards are plastic, the floor is laminate, and the walls are practically made out of paper mache.

It's CRIMINAL what they charge for what are basically just nice dorm rooms. If you can afford this price, just look somewhere else. There is no bang for your buck here.

(BTW, AvalonBay uses RealPage software which helps companies maximize profit by jacking up rent. They will jack your rent prices up no matter what.)

I lived in this building for 3 years (just moved out last week) and it makes me sad how quickly it went down hill over the last year or so. There were multiple instances where I feared for my safety not only due to security breaches in the building, but also for sanitary concerns. The new garbage shoots installed in the building haven’t opened consistently since they were installed at the beginning of the year and bugs and the trash smell wafting through the halls quickly followed. Although the community claims to be “smoke free” they will not take any action about people smoking in their units or on the rooftop. Additionally, the filters in your apartment are not changed on a regular cadence. If you order food to the building it’s likely to get stolen along with your packages if you aren’t quick enough to pick them up. If something breaks in your apartment, maintenance likely won’t come and if they do it’s going to be months after you have submitted a request. Avalon does not seem to be keeping this building up and it’s such a disservice to the loyal tenants and the amazing staff!

Shout out to Keni, Brooke and Romonia! Seriously they are the reason I didn’t leave the building sooner. They go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service and genuinely care about all of the residents. I will miss them dearly!

Vinny the maintenance technician has always had a great level of professionalism and efficiency while handling my service requests. If ever something needs to be fixed in my apartment, I look for Vinny to fix it.

Guys seriously, I haven’t moved in yet and you are already ignoring my emails, messages, and calls for weeks when I really need the help. I’ve seen people have the same issues months ago, you said you gonna fix the problem but clearly you are not! This is just beyond appalling. I would really advise to stay away from this place if you want a reasonable customer service.
