Best Braids By Fe Fe, Washington DC

DO NOT go here! She’s a nice braided but very passive aggressive. 2 hours into the session she asked me if I was Christian and then ridiculed me about my spiritual beliefs. Which have nothing to do with me coming to get my hair done Then basically tells me Jesus is the only way to be saved from hell. Her daughter did part of my hair and was very rude. Throwing the hair in my face and getting smart. Then the braided goes on to sing gospel music very loud in my ear. Mind you I’m sitting in this chair for 8 hours to get knotless braids. Very awkward experience. Worst hair experience ever! Very unprofessional, would not recommend

I must admit I was a bit nervous coming here, due to other reviews, but I took my chances, and Im so glad I did. I absolutely love my hair. I got small knotless braids, and when I tell you the results are everything! I will only be going to this place from now on. She listens and takes her time. She did one braid and asked if it was good before completing, I really appreciated that! The prices are amazing and she really could charge more… Thank you so much FeFe for getting me right! I love everything about her service! 10 outta 10. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

I been coming here for a very long time and it has been a spectacular experience, I recommend this to a lot of people looking for a near perfect hairstyle of their choice. I bring my friends and family here all the time and not one thing to complain about. The prices are manageable and considered a good bargain. Thank you Fefe for this experience. Fefe is so sweet and humble and highly deserves a five star rating for her hard work and good attitude.

I asked for medium knotless she gave me small I had things to do and I had to keep canceling because she did what she wanted not what I asked and she kept stopping to do other things also this is the wrong type of braiding hair it sheds too much it’s heavy as hell some of these squares are bigger than the others also I wish she never burnt the ends on blonde hair it just looks idek just not cute

This was sadly one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a braiding “salon” in the city.

As a young Nigerian woman in DC, I’ve been to a lot of spots in the DMV and consider myself well adept to the good braiders around. I would urge everyone I know to avoid this place.

I picked this place because I needed some quick cornrows and it was. 5 miles from where I was grabbing lunch. I had no idea it was someone’s home, but have no issue with that. I called at the door and was let in by FeFe’s daughter who said she’d be doing the hair.

Before I even sat in the chair, I asked how many cornrows we should do to go under a wig (she said five) and the price (she said 40). Agreeing with her assessment and price, I sat in the chair. It was a little rocky to start. The hair dryer doesn’t stay in the socket so you have to hold it for them, which seems like an electrical risk. But we got through that to the actual braiding!

However, the daughter received a call while she was on braid two and immediately told me the new price was 60. I asked to speak to whoever was on the phone (FeFe) and asked why the price had changed. I was then told that 40 is never the regular price. I said I would just leave because I only wanted to pay the quoted price and FeFe said she would come downstairs to discuss.

She came downstairs with another daughter and both of them tried to convince me to pay 60 for the service. I truly believe they thought I would be too embarrassed to go out with my hair looking crazy (spoiler: I am not). They also denigrated the younger girl doing my hair implying she was not business minded and wouldn’t know the real prices. (Then why have her quote them to customers?) I felt horrible for the young woman and the whole scene was uncomfortable.

I know a lot of other shops that could just do the hair so I offered to leave and FeFe told me to stay and pay the 40. Her other daughter took issue with her mother relinquishing and proceeded to go back and forth with me. She said it was due to the length of my hair, but I pointed out that they hadn’t seen my hair length when I came in since they were upstairs and had called with the new price. Again, I said I would leave and just find another braid shop and again FeFe insisted I just pay 40 and stay. The daughter stormed back upstairs (and yes, they were both definitely in high school).

The younger girl finished my hair and asked for the payment. I paid and she walked me to the door. I offered to pay her a tip for her troubles and she quickly looked in the direction of her mother and declined the money. I hope she was not punished in anyway for the price she originally quoted.

Honestly, the braids weren’t even worth the 40 (pictures taken as soon as I got home) much less 60. They were poorly done and I don’t even blame the young girl because her mother was staring us down the whole time. I would avoid this home and their familial squabbles to go to an actual shop to get your hair done.

I was excited to get my hair done because I normally just wear it in a bush although I know how to do my own hair but seeing as though I don't have the energy anymore and I do have the money to pay someone to do it- that's what I did. I wanted medium knotless braids and showed FeFe a picture beforehand. She ended up doing small braids that had knots in them. By the time I realized what was happening it was too late and I didn't feel like trying to rectify it, I just wanted to leave. It's been less than two weeks and I'm taking the style out because it was so heavy, I couldn't even put the braids into a ponytail. I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied but i just consider this waste of money a lesson learned.

She did a great job on my Senegalese twists! They don’t feel heavy or too tight on my scalp. All for a reasonable price. I definitely recommend.

This is the best best place in the DMV to get braids I have been getting my hair done there since 2010 the service is fast and the stylist are very friendly and prices are very reasonable and the styles last a long time ️

My girl come here all the time. Man they really r the best in the business. The owner is so polite. She takes her time with each braid so it can turn out all nice and neat. Bruh if I could, I'd give it 10 stars tbh with ya!

I went for crochet braids. I bought my own hair I bought a large amount of my own hair. I have a mohawk cut in my head so that means I only have a half a head of hair. I bought five packs of hair and the package were double. Her daughter put the hair in and she put to much hair in. My head feels like it Weighs a ton. I will not be returning to her business

Fe Fe does the best African Twists hands down! She's done my twists for years and I've never been disappointed. I can't wait to get my twists done.
