Great iced coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. Happy hour including on Sundays 4-6pm, nice margaritas. Sunday morning market right outside in the summers.

Love this restaurant! The coffee is awesome, the menu offers something fir everyone, and the food is yummy. Most importantly, the staff are incredibly friendly and efficient.

Big Bear is the quintessential neighborhoood coffee shop /cafe. Effortlessly hip vibe, great eats & drinks and grapevine covered patio make this a little corner oasis in Bloomingdale. Had the lavender-berry iced tea and farro salad topped w crispy chicken yesterday - delicious.

Great breakfast sandwich. It usually comes on an English muffin but I got it on a bagel instead and it was really good. The chocolate bear paw was amazing! It was like a chocolate babka pastry and was so delicious!

Atmosphere is amazing, cute place. Coffee is good. But food is horrible. We got is Lox Bagel and breakfast burrito. We didn’t eat anything, because it was too salty salmon and not fresh and burrito was not delicious. We got breakfast like to go, but nobody asked us where we going to eat. Not recommended for eat but good for drink coffee only.

Love the atmosphere and the outdoor patio. We each have the breakfast burrito one with bacon and the other without meat and they were quite filling and delicious! Coffee was also good!

I really want to like big bear, and their coffee is definitely good. But every time I’ve ever gotten food there I’ve been disappointed. Last weekend I went back and had a breakfast sandwich with a bagel and bacon. The bagel looked so strange, and was clearly under baked. For some reason they use shredded cheese, which didn’t even taste that good, and all fell out through the bagel anyway. Bacon undercooked. Eggs were ok. I’ve also tried the breakfast burrito and it’s not great either.it’s also way overpriced. $12 -14 for a bad breakfast sandwich is just insane.

I’ve had the pizzas a few times, always good. Some weird things. They add a 12% “service fee” which i wish they either called “gratuity” so that it’s clear it goes to staff, or just increases the price. If I ever learn the “service fee” doesn’t go to staff, I’d be pretty annoyed. But then I do tip on top of that. So it’s confusing. Drinks are decent, a little on the pricy side so I usually stop at 2 and move on. They have a lot of cute little events there, like open mic nites. You do have to bus your own table, so the service fee + tip + bussing your own table after is just a little too much for me.

Really nice cafe, rating four stars because of the lack of gluten free options.
For a gluten free person, I gathered the only food options here was a salad or a breakfast burrito in a bowl (which was still pretty good). Oat milk was gluten free too, which was great. The confusing thing was that the appear to sell gluten free bread by the loaf (unsliced), but don’t use it as a bread option for their sandwiches. I definitely contemplated buying a loaf to slice myself at my table and buying the ingredients for a sandwich separately and putting the sandwich together myself, but in the end opted for the burrito in a bowl option.
They could definitely add an allergen-marked menu to be more inclusive, which would be my recommendation.

I hadn't been to Big Bear since it was the grocery store. I may say they are getting off with price gouging and the Bacon I ordered on the side was compromised to say the least the food wasn't even hot it was pink then, the server took two pieces out when he brought it back. Ooh, what a waste of $22.00 plus a tip. I am so disgusted. My grilled cheese had apples on it an it was soggy. I could smell the bacteria coming off the plate. I don't know who you have cooking but it is not worth my money. Wait it get worse seating near a trah can was the indoor seating choice. Nope never again. It reminded me of the the drug attic that reeked of urine whenever I had to play my mom's numbers he be mopping up the store. Time for the image.

Big Bear's pizza has a lot of potential. The toppings are good and well-distributed across their pies. However, they are falling short in their attention to the crust. Despite being advertised as wood-fired pizza, my crust had very little of the blistering and char typically associated with this cooking technique. This left the crust tasting rather bland and didn't provide that extra flavor to round out the pizza itself. If Big Bear is able to spend some more time on their crust, they could easily serve up the best pizza in the neighborhood.
Logistically, if you order online, you will be instructed to pick up your order at the "pick-up window on the patio;" however, this did not actually exist when I picked up my order. Instead, I had to walk into the cafe itself. If this process has changed, I would suggest Big Bear update the default messaging customers are receiving.

Atmosphere and service great. Food not great. The burrito was mid. The thing got soggy and they don’t let you add anything to it. Cute space and nice ppl. But will only go for a cup of coffee no food

Wouldn’t be returning here. Poor service, continuously forget things that you order, overall no good. Go elsewhere.

Scones are mediocre. Coffee is slightly above average. But the restaurant is so damn cute, you check your tastebuds at the door and enjoy the ambience.

The coffee and the pastries were great but the food was below average.
The breakfast burrito was $12 and the breakfast sandwich $9 but were meatless. They only had veggies and eggs.

The yogurt parfait with “seasonal fruit” had only yogurt, granola and apples.

The taller guy who works here is really rude. I’ve had a couple bad experiences here. Separately, they sometimes don’t allow you to order takeout over the phone or even via an online software system of any sort which is so odd. Also, never had a coffee/latte drink that I really enjoyed. Overall I wouldn’t recommend. I also recently removed this from my Airbnb recommendations list for people who come into town.
