We dined at this establishment this evening and unfortunately experienced an unsettling incident. While seated (wine room) at my table, my date observed a mouse in the vicinity across our table, which raised concerns regarding hygiene and safety.

As we decide to leave, We approached the manager wearing a suit and tie at the cashier and explained the situation. He calmly smiled and thank us for bringing the incident to him. We explained the location of where the mouse wast last seeing and asked him to go to wine room area since other people were eating.

We never got an apology or regrets and it was not a surprise to manager to hear this situation. We wanted to bring this matter to the adminstrator’s attention promptly, as I believe it's crucial for the well-being of all patrons. I kindly request that chef investigate and take the necessary measures to address the issue, implementing effective pest control to ensure a clean and secure dining environment.

I appreciate a prompt attention to this matter and trust that someone after this review will take the appropriate actions to maintain the high standards I have come to expect from your establishment.

The food I had was delicious. The seafood in the appetizer was cooked and seasoned well. I enjoyed the flavors. I mentioned I was cold (seated in the wine room) and without asking the staff turned up the heat. The problem came from my entree selection. I asked if an item could be made gluten free and was told yes. It came out and was missing a key component. I had to send the food back because I wanted a full meal and didn't want to be charged the full price for half a dish. I wasn't informed of the way the meal would be changed before it came out nor was I offered an alternate selection that was safe for me to eat before or after the meal was served and returned. My husband wanted the special but it was out. I came on a holiday so I am just chalking this up to a fluke. Everything else was lovely.

Some of the BEST fish tacos I’ve EVER eaten! The calamari was delicious, and the star of the show was the ginger beer (non alcoholic) and it was so refreshing. Our waiter Will was so sweet and patient! He really knew the menu and made the experience sooooo much better.

Food was decent. Nothing special considering the prices. Tightly packed so close proximity to other customers. The 4% credit card fee is an awful business practice that added an extra $25 charge to our bill. Will NOT return.

Nothing but good things to say. A bit off the beaten track but worth the trip. We checked out happy hour right before dinner. Oysters rockefeller was excellent! Adies mussels were good. Calamari was a good portion. Drinks were good and not watered down. Staff were extremely nice and inviting. There's a fish market up front and the restaurant in the back. Not too big but intimate. Try sitting in the Cafe to have access to the happy hour and dinner menu. I will be back to try more things!

The steak was perfectly prepared. Med was just perfect, and it was cooked evenly without the overcooked or undercooked portions you may experience in lesser establishments.

I cannot think of a single item that would lead me to be critical of this establishment.

Delish! Visited for lunch recently and loved it from start to finish. Excellent service that was attentive but not intrusive and the food was simple and excellent (I had the lobster roll).

It was disappointing. All of the food felt over salted - do they take their name literally? Food was decent - nothing exceptional. Tables close together and if you’re next to a loud table, it’s hard to enjoy your meal. I just didn’t think it was worth it. 400$ including tip for a couple.

The food is always great would love it if they went back to the old grilled calamari and chefs tasting. Food is still great and the staff makes you feel at home

Ask for JJ! And definitely plan on buying either fresh fish or goodies to pack in your bag. A hidden gem that’s the best seafood in all of Washington DC. We tried everything on the menu to celebrate a special occasion. Beating breast cancer!

There are some DC restaurants you just can’t go wrong with! The seafood is fabulous and the oysters are amazing! There are an array of menu options and everything is out of the ocean fresh. I was looking for a good lunch burger and even though I was tempted to order some seafood, I stuck to my guns and had the amazing angus burger. I did have three fantastic oysters. The bread & cornbread were also very good. They have an extensive wine selection, knowledgeable staff and top of the line seafood choices. The seating offers spacious booths, tables and plenty of bar seating. I also enjoyed the delicious apple cake ala mode. There’s a fresh seafood market with a nice selection.

I've visited Blacksalt many times for dinners and happy hours, and I’ve always enjoyed their oysters. Recently, I tried their brunch, and it was delightful. The combination of eggs, seafood, and cornbread was simply delectable. I'd highly recommend giving it a try, and I'm looking forward to going again.

Wow, The Mussels, Tuna, Salmon apps were delicious. Main coarse had the Fish Tacos & Burger. Perfectly cooked and very tasty.

Brilliant from start to finish. Superb quality. Service unpretentious, thoughtful. Personal cloth towels in the men's room! Imagine.
