Blue Bottle Coffee reviews
14Me and my Boyfriend have been coming here for a several months now, after discovering this lovely place. Once we tried their coffee (my go-to is almondmilk cappuchino, his is hot americano), we can't enjoy it from elsewhere. We drive from Alexandria, VA to Georgetown quite often (sometimes a few times a week), dealing with the struggle of finding parking in this big city jungle, just to have a cup of our favorite coffee. We tried the other location, but it's the Georgetown location that we love the most. I don't even mind long wait time, I think that makes me excited to have it even more. I really appreciate staff for being so friendly and attentive, despite being loaded with orders all day long (overload does not decrease the quality of the coffee). I work in Oral surgery in Falls Church, and I recommend this coffee shop to all my patients (my coworkers always laugh that I am giving my sales speech trying to send the patients over to BB) can't help it! Best coffee spot we have ever been to in the DMV area. Plus, we love the minimalistic design of the place. Highly recommend! And a big shoutout for cashiers and baristas for being so hardworking and still staying cool and polite! Will surely be back soon
I have loved this place and went in for a final black cardamom latte and avocado toast fix! Sad to see it go, great location and atmosphere and friendly employees - heard that 1 January 2024 is the last day!
The espresso is good, it's a shame that out of 4 savory dishes only 2 were available. A few desserts are nothing more.
Overrated place and high costs.
Nice place to stop today in the middle of a long bike ride. Love this location and the coffee drink was perfect
The coffee is great, and I had the best avocado toast in my life here. It's especially nice to come here when the weather is nice since you can sit on the outside patio and they open the windows. They're almost always quite busy, so it's a great place to meet up with people but not to sit and work for a long time.
I enjoyed the flavor of the coffee and the banana bread was great. Just a couple things. My latte was pretty much lukewarm. The girl who took our order was just a bit on the rude side. But thats ok, I get sometimes people have bad days. But the guy who made our drinks was super nice. All in all, I would go back and simply ask them to make it a little hotter than normal.
The best cup of hot chocolate in town. Not too sweet with a rich taste of cocoa. I got a baguette sandwich with tasty ham and melted cheese. Combined with nice furniture and relaxing music this makes a great morning spot for breakfast and coffee.
Really amazing coffee. They make all drinks including pour over coffee by-order, so please prepare to wait a minute, but I promise it's worth it! The cafe is located by the canal in Georgetown making it a very relaxing and beautiful place to enjoy a treat or coffee.
It can definitely get a little busy in the mornings and the line has been out the door on multiple occasions, but the baristas work quickly and efficiently to keep things running smoothly.
Disappointing Experience at Blue Bottle Coffee - Unprofessionalism Galore
I had an abysmal encounter at Blue Bottle Coffee after placing an order online for two lattes. Upon arrival, the chaos began. One cup bore illegible smudged writing, while the other remained untouched. Given my mom's lactose intolerance, I politely sought clarification from Grace, who dubiously claimed to be the manager. Instead of assistance, I received an appalling response: "Just taste it. "
When I refused to risk someone's health by sipping from an ambiguous cup, Nathan jumped in, confidently contradicting himself, offering misguided advice about their labeling practices. Eventually, the real manager, Talia, had to intervene to rectify the situation created by Grace and Nathan's incompetence.
Grace's claim of being a manager was false; she was merely in training. Nathan's blatant misinformation and refusal to rectify his mistake were unacceptable. Their unprofessionalism and lack of respect were utterly appalling. Talia, the only beacon of professionalism, salvaged the situation with genuine apologies for their team's incompetence.
The cherry on top? There wasn't a queue, so their mismanagement wasn't due to a rush. Blue Bottle Coffee's appalling customer service, fueled by Grace and Nathan's incompetence, made this experience the epitome of disappointment. Also ordered a cappuccino originally tasted awful that Nathan made but Talia was able to make it perfectly.
No where to sit, only 2 employees
And name was wrong in my order and waited double time to pick it up because the wrong name
Pretty good quality coffee but they didn't have almond milk. The food wasn't special or unique. I didn't like the seating and layout of the cafe so I would not recommend staying in if you have a big group or if you want to have nice relaxing time.
Coffee was exceptional. However service was extremely slow. The tea was filled up too high in the paper cup and I burned my hand carrying it as it spilled over and also the paper cup itself was boiling hot to touch
Great coffee at Blue Bottle. Bakery items were not up to the price tag. That said overall a great location for coffee…except, please put some oil on the door hinges! The squeak from the door was excruciating. Not sure how your other customers tolerate this but once you hear it you can’t forget it. Won’t be back until you lubricate!
Cool place to grab a coffee or matcha and a pastry and get some work done. Friendly staff, fast reliable internet, spacious indoor and outdoor seating and close to the river/canal so you can go for a leisurely stroll afterwards.
Went back later for an affogato!
