8Book online and check weather like wind and rate of water flow for best boating experience.
This is a nice place to go kayaking, the service is fantastic, and there is some good wildlife along the river in the area.
Incredible views, incredible bird watching, patient, kind, knowledgeable staff considering it's not a year round job! Convenient season passes- no need to haul your own kayak, or inflate- they do everything.i do need people, other customers, however, to RESPECT THE LIFE JACKETS - don't wear one without a shirt (especially men). YOU are the reason they smell like onions (/BO!) if you are going to bring the lifejacket and not WEAR it maybe just grab one of the old ones? Definitely don't grab a new one, toss it in the boat, and then get fish juice or whatever all over it? IDK.it's a shared resource, these lifejackets, show some respect.everyone who lives in ANC3D should consider getting a season pass and biking down for some kayaking as often as possible.
Great place to sneak away from the daily grind. Fishing in the spring is world class. The addition of new boats and kayaks have also improve the experience
Extremely crowded, especially on weekends. It's great for fishing but there can be many rude individuals. Other than that, very beautiful!
This is a great place to kayak or paddleboard and they also have rowboats. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable.
This is one of the best locations in DC to kayak from. You can go upstream Potomac river until you reach the bridge. Just beyond the bridge there is rapids that one cannot cross. Then come back downstream relaxing.
There is a small waterfall in Virginia side. It is a fun place to do a short pitstop, grab a snack.
Tip: kayaking a close to the bank is a bit easier. Kayak close to right bank upstream.
Season pass can work if you have a family that plans to kayak a lot. Season pass allows you to pickup kayak from any location.
Love the place but when are we gonna see the poachers being caught there for netting shads and herring, also the amount of trash there being left by the same poachers is disgusting, beer cans everywhere etc…. I have never been asked my fishing license because no one comes to check on things, its time to change that if we dont want it to get worse.
