Busboys and Poets reviews
18Lamb burger was excellent. Service was quite a bit backed up. We ordered drinks when we first sat down but they came when we were almost done with our meals.
It is a nice location. Food is simple but good. The ambiance is always nice to meet friends
Food is yummy. Cool vegan options.
Service is good; friendly and helpful staff. The area is nice; cool area/settings cool for friends hang out or family.
Food was really good here. Visiting a very close friend in the Maryland/DC area and stopped here for lunch on the way home. Had crab grits and the Lamb burger. Delicious. She had the chorizo and chicken hash.also delightful. They did get the instructions on how the eggs are to be prepared accurate but they made up for it with the quick fix and everything else being so damn good. Good people too. I'll be hack when in the area. Was also really feeling the books n art vibe.
First time dining here! As we entered the restaurant the ambiance was so cozy. We were seated immediately and given the choice of hands free menu or hard copy. We were pleasantly surprised while photographing when June photobombed us unknowingly he was to be our waiter. My wife took me and her best friend’s picture for our Birthday. Let me tell you - June’s service was excellent, timely & he was very personable! His recommendations & recap was spot on from the drinks to the food which was delicious. I recommend you ask for June as your waiter the next time OR first time you visit.
So bad it seemed deliberate. Wait was 20 minutes longer than estimated; others complained similarly. Kind waiter moved us to a quieter room; the main room is loud as a hockey arena - try the bar if you dismiss the ensuing advice. She was great, and took our order promptly. Then we waited 25 minutes for drinks. My cappuccino plainly sat most of that time. Food arrived another 15 minutes later - first-world problems so far. Soup was less than tepid. FORTY minutes later it returned from the kitchen. During the interim, we had reminded the staff of the MIA soup three times, then I approached the manager, who missed my point and offered to check on the soup. I don't have the imagination to have made up the rest.
Google ate the rest of this story and I'm not typing it over. Probably for the best; let's just say we were lucky to restrain my 100 pound 70 yo sister. She would have pounded the 6'3" manager into submission.
Inclusiveness is about this restaurant because there is a miniature bookstore and pictures of President Obama on the walls, I recommend you to see and enjoy its atmosphere while you order and eat great food.
Our server was awesome and so was the DC Tap Water drink she recommended. My falafel sandwich was not like the one I had previously.
Busboys at any location is always great! A little pricey bit everything is fresh and made to order
I go regularly to different locations due to consistency in food, service, value and pleasant ambience
Great food & staff!
Favorites cauliflower bites and the house salad with avocado & vegan tuna.
So yourself a favor and visit. Great food with plenty of options. Open mic show is also a treat.
Always the right spot for a quick get together with friend! I love the consistency of Busboys & Poet! The food is healthy, flavorful & fresh! The Takoma location is always busy! Great service from our server, Jason was attentive & tops! Highly recommend!
Busboys and Poets is a culinary gem that left me speechless! Their Pork Vegan Rolls and Fried Cauliflower were absolutely phenomenal. The rolls were a perfect balance of savory vegan pork wrapped in a crispy pastry, while the cauliflower was crispy on the outside and tender inside. An outstanding experience all around!
It’s always a treat to dine here. Me and my children do brunch here and it’s always a great experience. We even let them bring a friend and go through the bookstore. It’s like you can’t find a good hard copy these days this and the Cheesecake Factory will always be a family spot.
This location stopped taking pride in customer service, food appearance, and quality. I do not recommend this location.
The food quality is very good, even though the house fries were a bit greasy. They have books, the atmosphere is good and the staff is friendly.
