Capital Area Food Bank reviews
27QuestionAble staff/volunteers, some likely court ordered and belligerent to customers and neighbors, while apparently unsupervised, monitored, etc. Not seeing pickup location listed on website, while duplicate stock photos on Blog.
This Food Bank is the World's WORST neighbor. I live across the street from this place and their property is littered. They do not pick up ANY trash on their property and there is a ton. Currently there is a trash bag that has been busted open on their property along with cups, paper plates, cans, bottles, pillows, fast food bags etc. There is so much trash that it is not clear if the grass and bushes has TRASH or the Trash has grass and bushes. This is unacceptable on so many levels! How can the managers and employees drive past that everyday and do nothing? How can this be city property and the people who manage it are this trifling? This is dragging down our property value!
This place is amazing, well ran, and sooo organized. I want to bring my family and maybe all my co workers. We also had a really good time. There was plenty of work & people to prepare us for it. There was no standing around wondering what we could do. We thought we would be there 3 hours but our group filled all the boxes in just over an hour.
Attention Truck Drivers can not use their RESTROOM, they don’t allow truckers to use their restroom and they don’t have portable available on site. Management should take serious Note on this
If you ask for a five dollor donation per car half of the people would throw a fit and stop coming there and even curse you out.
I have volunteer at this location 5 x and I brought my husband with me 2 x and he was.impress with how much food were there.
Seems like it should be a good place. But refused to accept a donation from my truck. And the guy that was refusing it couldn't have been any more rude.
The curbside is so good. Fresh veggies and low prices. Can't forget the friendly faces. What a wonderful idea they have. Can't wait for them to be able to do it again.
Simply the best feeling ever to give back. The staff at the foodbank is outstanding! Thank you.
Love the volunteer there do some good in your lives stop being everyday evil humans share give care
It's a great way to help your community by packing food and supplies for people who don't know where their next meal will come from
One of the best places to volunteer. Take a group with you from work or friends. I went with ten of my colleagues. You do not have to be from a work group.
This is an amazing place to spend your time volunteering. It is clean, orderly and has such a big impact on the community. I wish my group could have spent more time at this location. Definitely recommend helping in any way you can.

Awesome, very spacious, well-organized food bank in Northeast. I haven't seen all the functions at this facility but it's clear it's pretty busy they and their processes are pretty seamless. I highly recommend volunteering through their website.
People working hard to provide the hungry with food they need for there families and community
Friendly, fun and easy. Easy online sign up and record keeping of your volunteer hours.
TASKS: We sorted canned food, assembled cardboard boxes, and created family food kits.
FACILITY: It's clean, lockers are available for coats and things, lots of parking, and a nice break room with vending machines. Clean bathrooms. Consider bringing work gloves. Wear closed-toe shoes and well fitting work clothes for safety. Teens must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
Bring your lunch if working for the day because there are no quick food restaurants nearby.
Great Partners forever, They make great things happen at Shepherds Of Zion, come every first saturday of each month and see, the good things they make happen for others who come Shepherds of zion. You will atest to their good work to the community.
Love the new building but parking is a problem. It can be hard to find but the new sign out front definitely helps.
Great place to volunteer! The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and gave us a lot of insight into how the efforts there aids those in need in the DC area.
