Capitol City Brewing Company, Washington DC

If you're looking to go to a good bar in DC, do yourself a favor and skip Capital Coty Brewing Company. We rented the facility for the night for a corporate event and the staff was rude and not willing to work with us at all throughout the night.

At one point I wanted to order a beer and wad told to order from the bar, even though the service staff had barely stopped by our table in the hour that we had sat their. Similarly,   we were told that we not allowed to order additional drinks at the bar after they bartender yelled last call, despite our waiter disappearing midway through the night.

Go somewhere else to spend your money. This place is not worth it. What drinks we recieved were watered down and the food was on par with a bar found at a lower price point.

We paid thousands of dollars just to be rushed out if the bar. Don't go here.

Very disorganized staff! The food is also good but the staff can’t work in this way!

More than 40 minutes of waiting to be seated even though they had free and unbooked tables, 30 minutes of waiting for a sandwich and a wrap and in the meantime we had to ask 3 times for water and a coke, while a girl asked us for 6 times "how was it" without bringing us the water and coke we asked for! No one brought us silverware, I had to ask twice for napkins and I had to go get the sauces myself, after having asked for them twice, including once from the girl who kept asking if it was okay, but she didn't bring the things what we asked for! Only one girl managed to bring us things when we asked for them, but she didn't speak English but only Spanish!

Seeing the positive reviews, I can think that it may have been an isolated incident, but I don't think the staff changes every day! So I don't understand how they can give such positive reviews.

And the tables next to us also had the same problems!

My recent visit to the Capital City Brewery left me with mixed feelings. While the service was decent, the food fell short in terms of flavor and presentation. Unfortunately, we even had to send back an order as it simply didn't look appetizing.

Starting with the positives, the service we received was satisfactory. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the meal. They were quick to address any concerns we had, which was appreciated.

However, I must admit that I found the food to be a letdown. The flavors lacked depth and failed to excite my taste buds. Additionally, the presentation of the dishes left much to be desired, as evidenced by our decision to send one of our orders back.

Despite these disappointments, I believe there is potential for improvement at the Capital City Brewery. It would be great to see more attention given to enhancing the flavors of their dishes and elevating the visual appeal of the food. With some adjustments, I believe they can truly shine and provide a more satisfying dining experience.

Overall, my visit to the Capital City Brewery was a bit underwhelming due to the lackluster food. However, the service was decent, and I hope that they take the feedback constructively to enhance their culinary offerings.

Bathroom stunk and looked like a bomb went off in it.

We were there for 10 minutes. Service was rude and didn’t come by to take our order, but the lady did point at our table & roll her eyes. Needless to say, we walked out. Years ago this place was nicer but now don’t waste your time.

Broken chairs, dishonest waitress and not motivated to work.the waiter who takes 20% from you for advice without saying anything

Went here while on vacation. Took forever to order. Sat a solid minute with no menu or anything and had to flag down someone to take our orders. Food came out. My partner liked his grinder and beer but I thought my Ruben was subpar for the course. They have issues with their POS system where the online menu was different than their actual menu which is a bit weird. The employees though hustled like crazy which I appreciated even if the service was slow. This place was a reasonable choice to eat but I wouldn't return.

Their ladies bathroom was WILD. The locks didn't work, the bath tissue was everywhere and didn't look clean.

Upon arrival the host was playing on his phone and we had to say excuse me to get his attention. Our waiter wasn’t very personable either. Food was decent but my burger wasn’t cooked right. Mediocre experience.

I had been in DC a week and this place was across the street from my hotel. Most times I walked by at night, it looked a bit too crowded from the outside, so my last day in town, I ducked in her about lunch time on a Friday and it was less crowded. Had a whiskey drink and the Reuben sandwich with the sweet potato fries. Food was good, but the Reuben description said it was "piled high" and as you can see, I don't consider that piled high but it was good nonetheless. Fries were good and so was the bar service so no complaints.

On 9/13 the guy's and I tried out this spot. We were going to leave because the bar looked full and we had a group of 10. We decided to give it a chance and sat at a table. The food was good, the beers was absolutely delicious. Our server Meghan was very outstanding, made us feel welcomed, she made sure we never had an empty glass. She was absolutely amazing at her job. We definitely recommend this brewing company and we will definitely be back soon.

Cool spot! The food was better than expected for a brew pub. Plenty of good beers, regardless of what you are in to. Also, some interesting “hoptails”. I will probably be visiting again while in town!

Absolutely Fantastic bar, visited Twice with my son Thomas all the way from Leeds (UK). The staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly.

They all made myself and Thomas more than welcome, we could not recommend it highly enough.

The value for money, especially, in the happy hour was truly fantastic.

Beer was great tacos were average pizza and water were terrible. No more free pretzels. I was disappointed. Also sat us in an area where almost every tv was unable to be seen during a football game. Won’t be back.

Subpar food, premium prices. Our server spent more time trying to charge her phone then checking to see if we needed anything. Overall it's not worth visiting, much less returning to.

Food came fast, but order was wrong. Cancelled dessert order as it took too long. The bill was incorrect and after pointing out problems was still incorrect 2nd time around. Only two of their own beers on tap. Not a good experience. Would not recommend.

Really poor service. First when the server went to take our order, she didn’t say “hi” or even anything at all. She just looked at us until we ordered. It was very strange. At that point I think we knew we were in for a mess. We had to ask for basic things like silverware and napkins. We had to remind our server about the drinks we ordered more than once, then the drinks were delivered to the wrong table. Thankfully the people at the table that got our drinks also had the same server and knew she was a mess, and handed the drinks over to us.

Onion rings were undercooked. It was like eating a raw onion in greasy half-cooked batter. No crispiness at all. We asked for sauce on the side for the wings and it didn’t come out, so we had to ask for that again, too. We asked to substitute the fries in the kids meal for fruit and were told “no problem” and it came out with fries anyway. Basically everything that could have gone wrong with this meal did. None of these alone was a huge problem, after all, nobody is perfect. But, all of these things in one sitting was brutal. If you’re looking to do anything other than drink at the bar, you’re better off anywhere else.

My food was great and my server Edgar was very attentive. My only complaint is that one of the employees was cleaning another booth near us and when she finished threw the dirty rag above my head….

Nice beers and atmosphere. I ordered the jambalaya but it was too salty and I couldn't finish it.

Incredible brewery, fun place, great music, delicious burgers and brew! Located very close to the White House
