CAVA, Washington DC

The staff here are *so* nice. A friend and I stopped by here to pick up takeout orders for a group of people. As you can imagine, trying to order for a group of people who aren't physically there in a cafeteria style setup can get messy/confusing. All three people (Madeline, Carlos, and Nelson) helping us were so sweet, so patient, smiling the entire time and never made us feel like they were even the least bit annoyed. I specifically asked for their names because they went above and beyond for us but refused to accept a tip! Anyway.the food is great, and with service like this it feels really satisfying to support this business.

I was spending the past hour walking from upper 14th Street to downtown. After my first mile, my stomach was growling. I happened upon one of my favorite restaurants of all time! If I had the forethought, I would have eaten first, before I set out on my long journey. I ordered a Pita Wrap that included with brown basmati rice, spinach, crazy feta dip, and awesome roasted vegetables. I walked in, it was prepared, and I was done. Even in the five minutes that I was there, there was a pretty cool stream of customers coming through to pick up their orders. The pi ta was fresh and screaming 'eat me' as I continued my walk down 14th!

Great fast casual spot. The food is always good and the staff are nice. I will say, it’s probably one of the worst locations, but that’s just because where it is.

After a slight mistake with my order, this location offered me a free meal without question. I was taken aback, because I did not think it needed to be free. Every time I come here, there is always great customer service and the food is always great. Will definitely be back soon!

So basically today work was very busy for me and we usually have 1 of us out of 4 pick up lunch for us. We decided to go with Cava today. My co worker went and picked Up the food ordered via the app but unfortunately my order was messed up. Now I was so upset. The Day just kept getting worse. At the same time i was too busy and hungry to even call the store and complain. Eventually, after 15 mins or so I started eating my food and I had a chance to call the store. Now I was being a little rude and I feel bad about it now but then again I just wanted the delicious spicy lamb meatballs I had ordered. When I called I actually never expected to get my ordered fixed BUT GUESS WHAT. This really great lady named Cecilia apologized for the mistake and offered to bring me another bowl with the meatballs this time. AND SHE SAID SHE WOULD BRING IT HERSELF PERSONALLY SINCE I WAS JUST DOWN THE STREET! This is what I call BEYOND AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is why I love Cava. Thanks for making it up to me in the most unexpected way. This was literally the highlight of my day. The food was yummy per usual! <3

Very cozy and delicious food. I totally recommend to at least try this place ones. Smaller portions and prices are a bit on a higher end but overall great experience.

Cava hits the spot! It’s like a Mediterranean chipoltle. I would eat here every day if I could. Everything is always fresh and tastes wonderful. The crazy feta is a fan favorite. I enjoy the eco friendly atmosphere and healthy food options. Great Mediterranean food for a great price - fast and simple and delicious.

This is healthy food at its finest! I stopped here everytime I'm in DC and look forward to my salad bowl

It's pricey, but it's absolutely delicious when I want something healthy. I highly recommend the pita with braised lamb and tzatziki. Also if you use the app, you get Rewards over time.

Very little seating available. I had to wait portable even during an off-peak time. The staff were not as friendly or the food as fresh tasting as at other locations.

This place getting stingier each day
Maybe the new management I don't know, but when I asked for some pita chips and tomatoes, they literally gave me 4 (four) strips pita chips and a halved cherry tomato. They will survive indeed, however they will never be a Chipotle.

Food is tasty. Very hard to order, it's unclear what part is what. You often have to go-back in line to get rice since they hide it on the other side of the restaurant. Very inefficient setup overall.

I appreciate they comparable or recyclable nature of utensils, bowls, and cups. Ice cold water on tap is nice. Beverage selection is tasty sodas from small craft producers.

Food is worth it overall, just have to get through the awful ordering process.

This CAVA is clean and fast, it can get busy during dinner time but there is plenty of seating available.

I absolutely love the food at Cava. It's such a delicious combination of flavors, and I can usually get two meals out of a single bowl.

This place is great. The people at this location are extremely nice and kind to people who don't know what they want because they haven't been to Cava before. The food is great, not sure if it's healthy but it looks and tastes like it is! Absolutely fantastic 10/10.

Wonderful polite staff that always greet you with a smile. Great place to grab a quick healthy meal!

Why are you out of Pita chips and you still have 3 hours before you close.not good And they stop selling the mesclun mix for salads.

Food was great, I will definitely be eating there again. It's a Mediterranean Chipotle if you need a idea of what to expect.

Really good mix of flavors. And a good amount of food. Only feed back is it was our first time, and they seemed rushed and not very patient with us

There's so much to love about CAVA as a business-the locality of the ingredients, the freshness and flavor, and the amazing drink combos. This particular location is fairly unassuming in a bustling part of Columbia Heights, but well worth dipping into.
