That place is completely mass up
No minimum communication or so ever between medical team at all
Most staff behaviours Are not professional at all, their acts is full of anger, stress and negative energy that patients don’t need to see when they going for medical treatment.
Their first goal is making money and cover them self from liability that all
Busnises under medical treatment to make numbers of money
No humanity at all
Unfortunately

I wouldn’t know anything about how this hospital works, as it’s been 5 weeks since they saw my little girl. Ever since they’ve only proven that they don’t return phone calls, emails, etc. We had to start the process all over and the next hospital works like a hospital should. Thank god Childrens National is not the only option.

I was referred here by Kaiser for fluoroscopy and nuclear medicine tests for one of my children. The hospital is beautiful and clean. Our experience in fluoroscopy was great - the tech and radiologist were really supportive and great at explaining everything to my husband and I. Nuclear medicine was a disaster. I sincerely hope we will not have to return there ever again. My son needed an IV for his test and it took them 5 attempts to get it. At one point I was told that they might have to postpone his test and have us return another day since they could not get an IV inserted. I’m not sure how returning on another day would have yielded different results and was flabbergasted that they were considering canceling a test that was deemed essential by a specialist. To make things worse, the tech who tried the second and third time blamed my son for missing the IV, saying that he was “too strong”. I’m not sure how an 11 pound infant is stronger than a grown woman, but as a fellow healthcare worker who starts IVs in infants, I understand the importance of having a good hold on the limb and having the patient properly restrained before trying to poke him. To make our experience even more frustrating, when I tried obtaining my son’s radiology reports by creating an account in the Patient Portal, nobody seemed to know how to help. I was transferred to five different departments before I encountered a voicemail and gave up. It was ultimately an NP at Kaiser who reached out to radiology directly to get reports on my behalf, but it is still frustrating to me that I cannot view them myself (what if we are out of town and have to take our son to the hospital? Having a record of the tests he had would be really helpful then!). If a patient is establishing care at the hospital, it would make more sense for staff to provide parents with the invitation to join the patient portal instead of putting the burden of establishing an account in parents who are already anxious and stressed out about having to come to the hospital in the first place.

I was in and out of Children’s hospital and everything i’d go to the ER every nurse and doctor that has attended me were very sweet and kind and this also goes for the ICU nurses and the recovery nurses and doctors that take care of you when you’re ready to be discharged.

I was a staff member at one time. Childrens Hospital is a great place to work. It may get busy that's because they are dealing with some serious health issues with our little ones. So be patient you will love the care.

This Children's Hospital is wonderful! The staff are so kind and attentive. ER staff is really nice. They handed out heated blankets to patients. Free Starbucks in the family waiting area! They are so attentive with being short staff. Listening to my daughters needs, and answering my questions. If they don't have an answer, they find one. They really show they care through their works!

Don’t take your kids to this hospital’s ER unless you want to wait for 2 hours or more to see a doctor. The doctor was good.

I try to call every year to speak with and thank the nurses who actually got us through the guilt, anguish and helped me stay sane during my stint at Children's. They were the best ever. They kept me sane while my son was so very ill. They went above and beyond and took excellent care of my son, Dawson. Jenn, Heather and Sarah. You all are the best ever.
Our son has grown into a terror from hell and we love every moment of it.

Like most ED places, Children's ED is a very busy place. Twice, ED nurses fail to wear gloves while starting IV fluid and medication. I reminded the nurses to wear gloves. Both nurses told me they forgot to wear gloves because they were busy. Wearing gloves is a part of infection control. Please let ED nurses wear gloves.

Currently waiting here for my newborn to be seen. The waiting room is so packed I'm scared he’s going to catch something just being here. It’s midnight and we’re in a super bright room so my already fussy baby can get no rest. Horrible experience so far.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM HERE! Disclaimer, this review is strictly for the emergency room. I have been here plenty of times for Dr appt I specific areas with my daughter and every doctor we have seen by appointment has been great. However that dam emergency room is pathetic! Went in at 11: 30pm for a constant fever my daughter had for almost 2weeks and didn't leave out until 9am the next day and they probably would've been longer had I not walked out and demanding our discharge papers because I had my own doctor appointment! After waiting on the waiting area for 3hrs before anyone called, even when asked the intake lady how long before they call us she just said she didn't know. Finally called up for vitals at the 5th hr and then they make an announcement that the wait is over 7hrs long! Well I'm already half way through that wait time. All for us to finally get called to the back to have them not order any lab test for my daughter, have a Dr come out giving me pieces of information and steps and waiting for hours w/o food or drink. It was unacceptable for a hospital which Ryan Seacrest is associated with for the process to be that poor. I'll add that it was only black and brown people here, minorities in the emergency room so one can only wonder if that added to the poor service. The service was average, very unclean waiting area and bathrooms, uncomfortable seating, no customer service, empathy or care for parents and their children. Theyneed to do better.

NOT RECOMMEND Children's National Hospital being one of the best Hospitals in the nation but I don't know what happened with them
I have been bringing my specials needs son since he born 16 years ago
He have being on every floor PICU, Recovering Surgery everywhere here
He have being hospitalized many times but now with the pandemic I brought him to emergency room few months ago and they had a 8 hours waiting for emergency so I just fill up all papers but when someone told me they had 7 hours waiting I took my son to another hospital
But I brought him back after a month and we have almost 2 months here they are short on personal for some reason
They have a very unfair policy for who can stay with the patient
I brought my son here and next day I went out and they hold me for 30 minutes waiting at front entrance not let me go back to he's room
I'll not recommend this hospital anymore unless there is no other around

I was nervous while driving in after seeing the low rating but I noticed most complaints were due to the time spent waiting. Well today I spent 11 hours in the ER and while that’s a crazy amount of time my son was so well taken care of that I don’t care. Every option was explored and there was no being referred to other places because all specialist are under one roof. 100% recommend making the trip into DC for child emergencies if you’re able.
The staff was wonderful️
