Compass Coffee reviews
18 Lavender Earl Grey - Hot Black Tea with honey Can't go wrong with that on a cold winter day in Washington DC. Stop by and get your tea or coffee ️ today.
Very friendly staff, great customer service, great experience. Compass? Coffee is very close to the White House and Capitol Hill. Lots of shops near by and movie theaters
Thank you for the awesome customer service
Coffee was very very good. Shawn helped me customize my favorite drink that wasn’t on their menu. He was very patient and a great listener!
I wish there was more lounge-type chairs. After exploring D. C.on my feet all day, I just wish there was some place more comfortable to sit than metal stools and straight-backed wood chairs.
But a good experience all the same
Fairly average coffee shop. Got the drip coffee and to be honest it was mediocre, seems like they are trying to taste like Starbucks. So not going to give you a better or different jolt of java. Staff and facility were all nice
Got an iced latte, and I could tell the espresso was much better quality than the national chains. They also have simple syrup, which seems like a pretty minor thing but it disperses in cold drinks far better than granulated sugar.
We started our time in D. C.by heading to this coffee shop & going for a usual order, along with a small pastry. The items were procured quickly and were great.
The atmosphere of this coffeeshop is very busy, which is reflective of the city itself (though busy with tourists, which the shop was not.) This didn't disturb much but if I were in there to work or relax rather than begin a busy day, it may have posed more of an issue.
The staff were friendly and it is situated in a convenient location.
Good atmosphere, but Coffee was terrible. Milk was overheated and tasted burnt. It didn’t seem that the barista was trained how to properly make espresso drinks
Nice cafe. Don't understand the review that someone posted earlier that the matcha isn't good. I really liked it. Just remember to mention if you want it without sweetener. Very friendly service!
5 stars. - The staff members are probably the nicest people in the city. The coffee is fantastic, but walking into a place where everyone knows your name smile is perfect coffee is great but I come here for the staff. 5 stars
Absolutely delicious espresso. Ordered the vanilla latte, and it blows my mind. Has a smooth rich creamy, with a full body taste. Not burnt like Starbucks or lame like dunkn. The Compass also has delicious pastries. I'd show pictures but it was so tasty I just ate it. Affordable and great atmosphere.
The service was ridiculously awful, the guy worked morning shift on July 30 wore blue tshirt and black skull cap was like he couldn’t be bothered more. We came and he looked at us with no welcome, we were busy with the baby so stood in the first counter, he walked in to the counter next to it with cold face in silence, could have said “I can take you here” or whatever, but no he just stood there until we realized and walked to him. Took order in the worst customer service manner!
Like Compass coffee but there are so many others with better service around the area. Never come back!
The staff (on July 29th around noon) at this location are some of the best! Super nice, gave amazing recommendations, and just over all friendly folks.
If you’re a hardcore coffeeholic, you won’t get enough of this coffee. I tried their ‘coffee of the day’ and it was super strong.
The coffee cake was delicious, though. It went well with black coffee.
I didn’t like how very loud the music was. So I wouldn’t recommend working/studying there. But a quick cup of coffee in the outside seating area sounds fun.
Compass Coffee is a necessary part of the DC experience, phenomenal! Excellent vanilla cold brew.
The service, wow! The coffee, wow! I think I just found my new favorite Java spot. A step above the rest! Attention to detail and I got my order back super fast! I'll be a repeat customer as long as the excellence is there.
It's a good spot with good coffee and great service. I have subtracted two stars for this "cashless" absurdity, which is clearly just an attempt to restrict who can shop at this business without actually improving the ostensible public health aspect in the slightest.
Coffee was super bitter, like they hadn’t cleaned the machines in a while. The AC was nice, and I was feeling generous, so this was going to be a 3-star review.
But then the barista who had rung me up minutes earlier accosted me as I was trying to use the restroom on my way out asking “are you even a paying customer? ”, with a don’t-try-to-steal-our-restroom smirk. Stunned, I showed him my receipt.
Lovely customer service, Compass Coffee.
Stopped by to grab coffee after a work event nearby. Caramel latte and blueberry scone were tasty. The two guys working were prompt and friendly, and the restrooms were clean.
Don't try the matcha tea latte it tastes and smells like seaweed. Like a fishy smell, but I know that the other drinks are good.
