You are in good hands with Doc Sarah! She is knowledgeable, straight to the point, and whole heartedly committed to her athletes well being. I first saw Sarah with a hip injury that completely took me out of running - not only was she able to get me back to running safely and pain free but had me healthier, fitter, and faster than I was before injury! Couldn’t recommend her enough:)

Dr. Sarah is nothing short of fantastic, and the fact that she was able to open her own PT firm with FLEX / carry over such great relationships with her patients speaks to this.

I struggled for several years to find a good physical therapist for elite running in Washington DC and feel so lucky to have been able to work with Sarah to get back to full health. I feel like the most common response runners get in this city to an injury is "stop training" or "if you run more than X miles, you'll break", which is a terrible outlook to have on the sport (and on patient care), which as a runner, no one wants to hear.

Sarah worked with me to create a plan to short-term mitigate flare ups to get me to my race date, while simultaneously creating a rehab program that addressed some mechanical and muscle issues that have been the cause of long-term, recurring injuries. Her physical therapy regimens are robust - she works with each patient to make sure that they are loading weight in the right place, that they are not 'cheating' the exercises (ex: supinating outwards when your foot should be level), and that each exercise is done correctly so that patients are reinforcing bad habits / gait patterns.

Sarah also has some of the most robust tools and techniques in the market - the woman literally teaches a masterclass on needling + STIM combo (absolutely elite). She has Garmin Stride pods available for loan, which was pivotal to understanding things like imbalances on different sides of my body and also offers gait analysis (using food pods / tech) to add a data-driven approach to her recommendations (again, SO rare to see with PTs in the area, and another reason DC Physical Therapy and Fitness stands out).

Last but not least, Sarah treats every single one of her patients with empathy and respect. Regardless of whether your goal is to compete at a global level, or run your first pain-free 5K in several years (because she treats both of these types of athletes), you will be met with compassion and patient-centric care, which is HUGE and something the PT industry as a whole lacks, and where Sarah (and FLEX) shine.

TL;DR I've run at the D1 / NCAA/ and now international level and Dr. Sarah is by-far the best PT I've worked with across all cities and sports - if you are in the DMV area, you'll be hard-pressed to find better care than this.

Customized training thoughtfully targeted to help you identify, work through, and move beyond your weak points to a more balanced, integrated, stronger, more resilient body. I've worked with quite a few people in recent years due to an injury, and Dr. Sarah Weimer's approach has been the most effective I've found. Highly recommend.

I was fortunate enough to meet Sarah back in 2014 after undergoing knee surgery to repair my meniscus. Fast forward 6 years and I needed her to put me together again after rupturing my Achilles.

This last injury happened in 2020 right as the COVID-19 pandemic began. She supported me through my rehab with creativity and imagination as she turned the city of DC into her own personal rehab clinic. We continued to meet beyond my prescribed physical therapy as she knew I needed the attention and guidance. As we met weekly on the National Mall, I slowly but surely regained my strength and ability to run again. Working with Sarah I became a stronger, faster, and better prepared runner than I was prior to my injury.

Dr. Weimer is as knowledgeable and dedicated a physical therapist you will find. She is committed to always learning the most up to date practices and methods, and is selfless in her efforts to serve her athletes.

Thanks to our work together, I have improved my marathon PR by over 12 minutes and we now have our sights set on even bigger goals!

I’ve been working with Dr. Sarah for a few years now and she’s phenomenal. She’s not just throwing exercises at you and hoping for the best - she puts a lot of thought into getting you to your healthiest self, has studied and understands the varying needs of athletes/humans and keeps things interesting by introducing creative ways to reach your goals.

You’re in good hands with Dr. Sarah. She’s rooting for you and your health and is willing to do whatever it takes to get you there safely.

I first started seeing Dr. Sarah Weimer for physical therapy when I tore my ACL in 2019. She saw me through pre-hab, surgery and rehab - and within a year, had me back to my pre-injury mile times and distances! So, when she started DC Physical Therapy and Fitness and started offering classes during COVID, I was immediately in. In addition to going to PT sessions with her, her classes, while at times challenging, forced me to confront the physical limitations I had because I was simply ignoring them in my own training prior to surgery. Her patience, knowledge and classes shaped me into a well-rounded athlete, with better mobility, strength and endurance than ever before. It's been three years since my surgery, and I still loyally go to her classes whenever I can. When I work out on my own, people comment all the time on my form and range of motion - all of which I learned and honed in on during Dr. Sarah's classes! And, I still hit her up for PT sessions when things are a bit wonky. There is simply no one in the DMV area as knowledgeable about what it takes to be a well-rounded, well-trained athlete like Dr. Sarah. I cannot recommend her services and her classes enough.
