I head this place was really cooler but to be honest it was just multiple floors that were basically the same. Did not have the deceases them at all. Also I’ve heard other have had their drinks drugged here so go somewhere else. Not worth the cover charge.

I have been going to Decades for years and this is one of my favorite clubs in dc! Such great music and great service. The bartender I had last time, Jess T.was so sweet and so great! Made us the best and yummiest drinks and so fast! Will def try to order from her again when we go next!

Went on a dead Wednesday, was coerced to pay 10$ cover with nobody on the dance floor. Followed by extremely overpriced drinks (2 doubles came to 80$). I highly don’t recommend this place.

I decided to take out some friends from out of town and chose Decades as one of the destinations. Had some issues getting in, guess the bald doorman was having a bad day or just isn’t friendly, but Remy smoothed everything over. Made me feel welcomed and personally escorted my group to our section. Without Remy there, I doubt we would’ve stayed at this venue. 5-star service from Remy, he most definitely made it a night to remember!

Incredible time! There’s a floor for everybody. Great for groups. Everyone can split off and there’s a floor for everyone. Shawn in rooftop was awesome

Worst club I’ve been to in a while. One friend paid the $20 cover before the rest of us realized we didn’t want to go. We asked for it back considering we hadn’t even entered yet. The doormen were incredibly rude about it and told us there was no way we’d get that back and physically turned their backs to me when I tried to explain the situation. We ended up going in anyway to try to make the most of it.

Drinks over priced (I know it’s DC but a $12 drink should have some alcohol in it) and I watched another security guard be very rude to another patron. This place is not enough fun to warrant all the money spent between the drinks and the door price, and the staff was pushy and poorly mannered in multiple instances. Never coming back.

They played African the entire time on the roof top. Also four different sets of steps to get the main floor and roof top. Wish someone had warned me I would not went. No seating besides VIP

I was just here last Friday for the first time and it was a phenomenal experience. The music was bumping, the bartenders were amazing, and the vibes were perfect. Security made me feel safe from the moment I entered to the moment I left. Even the folks outside before you get in the door were super kind. Security even prevented a fight on the rooftop! I even noticed that they kept an eye on super drunk folks and made sure that they didn't overindulge. The bathrooms were cleaner than any place I've been in and I'm being so serious. I've been to places that smelled straight up like doo doo and they expect folks to drink there. And this was the rooftop bathroom that smelled clean! This was such a fun club and I'm coming back!

For a club this place is top notch in terms of being clean. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people were mopping the dance floors, bathrooms etc all night. The restrooms were clean, great music and it was comforting to see security present as well. Definitely recommend!

They lost my friend’s card on two separate occasions at the end of the night. The concept of the bar itself is cool, but I genuinely don’t understand how you lose a card lol that means they either don’t store them in a central location to grab them from and give back to people, or they’re being dishonest and just throwing them out or something. Either way, the place isn’t nearly nice enough to take that risk in my opinion. I recommend going and paying with cash cause I’m sure they won’t lose that.

Edit: Updating score because they seemed to have found both my friends’ cards a few days later. Glad to hear they actually looked.

I went to decades for my bday and I had a great time. I told the bartender Alexander about it being my bday and he wished me a happy bday w good energy. He made the experience real fun and positive for me as it was my first time going to a club. Giselle was also extremely friendly and enthusiastic. Can’t wait to go back!

Small town, not much in this area as far as shops but it's a great place to relax. It gets busy, but there's lots of parking spots. I recommend you go if you never went.

Such an iconic place in DC with decades (no pun intended) of conglomerative experience among DJs in the DC area. Perfect way to bring back old school DC club scene with everything modern you could imagine with the young crowd. Very good selection of top shelf drinks. There’s something for everyone at Decades. Such a cool place.

The place to go if you want to talk to college girls and be harassed by bouncers. The bouncers, who routinely let in underage girls (beyond Thursdays), lifted my shirt up without consent to check if my $80 shorts had a belt and turned me away because they had drawstrings despite not being athletic shorts and being the same khaki-like material of others they let in wearing shorts. The girls in my group who got in experienced rude behavior from workers inside. Also, several years ago a bouncer unexpectedly showed me a homemade pornographic video he filmed while I was inside the club.

Ghetto. I attended a brunch event and should have known better because it was free brunch from 4pm-5pm. You have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to the bar where food was being served. You'll find yourself trying to open a door on every floor just to avoid the stairs. Even at the start of the event the food was not ready. When it was ready, it was buffet style: eggs, sausage, pancakes, Mac n cheese, BBQ wings. THERE IS NO WHERE TO SIT. They had one 2 seater couch that was constantly hogged by someone on their phone. At this point you're having brunch at the bar with everyone ordering their drinks around you. Speaking of drinks, be prepared to pay $15 for a specialty drink in a cup smaller than the red party cups. That price includes only ice and a garnish. Then they tac on an extra $3 gratuity and $1.50 tax. The bartender will take cash/tips and touch everything behind the bar including your straw and lime. The rooftop was closed until 5pm. The staff act like they can't make I contact or communicate about how the place works. The event was supposed to be "afrobeats/Caribbean" theme. I mostly heard Sean Paul and Chris Brown. I wanted to get my money's worth and make the best of the event. But then my Uber swooped in and saved me. I recommend a hardcore pregame, comfy shoes, and take advantage of the free water like everyone else hanging at the bar (they did not come to spend money)

Came for the vibes, stayed for Alex on the roof top. What an amazing bartender! He is a lot of fun and took great care of us. Will come back just for him.

The nightclub/dayclub service at the bar is amazing. Alli is always on point working behind the bar with a great smile. She always stands out.

SKIP THIS ONE. Homophobic dress code - they turned away multiple queer male friends on PRIDE NIGHT for wearing sleeveless shirts. No such policy applies for women. This is an appalling double standard for any business, particularly for one in the gayborhood. Please do not give this establishment your business.
