District Doughnut reviews
19Really out of the way in the alley, but "well worth" the treck for the fresh treat!
Kevin and Sam are great! Sam helped me with directions to get there. Kevin was friendly as I’m in town for a few days. I tried his recommendation of the crème brûlée donut. Tastes just like the dessert Worth the adventure and donut pilgrimage.
Note: District Donut is around the corner from the Ukrainian Embassy on the left. You go down a bit of a steep sidewalk then turn left onto a two colored cobble road of sorts.
I can’t say enough about this store! People were SUPER polite and welcoming. They have the best doughnuts in town! Coming from Florida and trying their doughnuts was amazing!
If you’re looking for some creative to crazy donuts this is an interesting one, all of them are so good but the everything cream cheese was extremely crazy for me
As a donut lover, I'm always looking for unique donuts when I travel. I found this spot and had to give them a try.
My husband and I shared 3 donuts:
- Key Lime Pie
- Everything Cream Cheese
- Orange Creamsicle Creme Brulee
The Key Lime Pie and Orange Creamsicle Creme Brulee were both pretty good. The Everything Cream Cheese one was too dry for me.
I would recommend getting flavors that are glazed all the way around because otherwise it was too bready.
Thank you so much to the amazing staff who let us in right at closing. It's been years since we had a chance to have your donuts and your customer service is equally as superb as your donuts!
Tasty donuts, however, I am still awaiting a call back for a refund from St. Patrick's Day (March 17th). One box of donuts were missing for a Corporate event and hey, mistakes happen. What shouldn't happen is the length of time it has taken for someone to issue a refund. 2 phone calls and 2 emails were sent. Will not order from again.
Great little doughnut shop in Georgetown. The staff were really friendly and gave amazing recommendations. Huge fan of the blueberry doughnut. Not the biggest fan of their Hot Chocolate but that might just be me.
Tried the cinnamon roll for the first time today. PERFECTION! Fresh, yeasty, with just enough cinnamon and not overpowered by sugar glaze. I wish I had bought 2 of them! Of course the doughnuts were fabulous as always.
Local shop, excellent specialty donuts. Nice staff, trying to make a living, support them!
We liked this place a lot. Great choices of cake and yeast donuts, good location with being close to the water/walking trail, and friendly staff. Will come back when we're walking through Georgetown again definitely.
We visited this shop early afternoon so they were out of the brown butter favorite, so I had to settle for a snickerdoodle donut. It was a cake style donut, very moist and full of flavor. I would order it again. The cinnamon rolls looked delicious! We definitely recommend this shop.
While presented like champagne in a clean flute, warm beer in an aluminum can is the better descriptor. Overpriced and they’ll be closed once the recession hits. Glad because they are prejudice towards some customers without customers knowing.
“Light donuts” and very tasty. It did not seem fried and splendid choices. Tried the maple pecan, chocolate, and potato pie.
District doughnut is good. Their variety is good and you can explore around. Their coffee is decent too.
Parking is not easy obviously it’s located in Georgetown. Very nice walking path and it is tucked in the behind the building in the alley.
Really nice doughnut store around the neighborhood to try!
Such a fun place! I got the creme brûlée doughnut and they torch it right in front of you, which is very cool. It was delicious and I can’t wait to try some of their other doughnuts too.
Don’t be fooled by the fancy display and good looks. Some of the worst donuts I’ve had in years. Such a disappointment. Ended up throwing away most of them.
Usually the donuts that I've had on the East Coast are disappointing compared to my best experiences on the West Coast (Voodoo in Portland and Top Pots in Seattle), but this place was fantastic. Their creme brûlée donut was expertly prepared and had a great mix of textures and flavors that helped it avoid the cloying sweetness that a lot of other dessert places suffer from. Sort of expensive for the accoutrements so just get a donut, which will be well worth the price tag (trust me).
We visited District Doughnut while we were in DC. This particular location is hidden in an alley behind the Ukrainian Embassy. We came in when the store just hit opening time, thus coffee wasn’t ready. However, the donuts were ready to order. Due to the pandemic we weren’t able to eat inside. The donuts are big and bit airy, eight different varieties to choose from. Cherry Blossom and Cookies&Cream is good donuts to try.
