District Doughnut reviews
18Great donuts and sweets. I tried their pumpkin spice cinnamon roll and it was fantastic! Their donuts have a variety of flavors as well.
On a family trip to D. C we went and got lunch and then went to District Doughnut for a doughnut. They did not have an overwhelming amount of choices and overall the doughnuts were really good.
I usually get donuts for my office from this place and really loved it. Last time I went in, I was incredibly overcharged. I asked for 2.5 dozen donuts but was charged by the half dozen (you save $10 when you get a full dozen). I asked for a refund and they told me to come back the next day. When I showed up, no manager was available and they told me to come back in two days. I asked to have the manager call me so we could do the refund over the phone. They agreed, and I still have not received a phone call or my refund. I won’t be coming back.
Have been a patron of DD for 4 years and since they transitioned to an automated cashier system the customer service has declined to a new low. Very disappointed.
Omg! Ordered the half dozen via door dash. The site will not allow you to pick the donuts you want. So I took a chance (won’t make that mistake again). Whoever thought an everything donut with onions was a good idea. I wouldn’t put that in someone’s order that didn’t have a choice. That is definitely something that someone should have a choice to order. Absolutely disgusting
Fun and interesting flavors of donuts! We got a berry donut which was nice and sweet. And the everything bagel donut was.interesting for sure. Basically a bagel but in donut form. We got another one that had chocolate on it that was nice. Lots of different flavors to choose from!
This is a review of the service of the place as I didn’t get a chance to order. My family and I walked into District Doughnuts and every worker was on their phone except for a worker in the back. We were greeted (a quick hello) without the person behind the counter ever looking up from their phone. The other worker behind a clear glass was also just staring at her phone and didn’t acknowledge our presence. It was hard to miss us since it was my husband, 3 children, and I.
This is disappointing as I was looking forward to trying this place.
Great array of doughnut choices, awesome taste! Would definitely go back! I thoroughly enjoyed my brown sugar butter doughnut. The creme brulee one they torch the sugar right there before they give it to you.
Terrible. Supermarket Donut for $4. Stay away. Horrible horrible. Tough, chewy.just awful. The coffee mist have been sitting there for hours tasted like gas station coffee. Don't go. Worse than Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. The worst I have ever had. I wish I could post a negative star
I loved my experience at District Donut! Very calm and welcoming environment with a delicious donut and amazing Compass cold brew. One of the only places selling coffee around Eastern Market on Mondays and it’s worth it. Hope to become a regular during my time here; staff is very friendly and helpful! Check them out!
Let me preface this first. I live in Los Angeles which is THE donut capital of the world. There is literally a donut shop on every corner. I like to try donuts wherever I visit to compare. This unfortunately was by far the worst! It is truly a 1-star place but I gave it a +1 because the counter help was nice.
I got a salted butterscotch and a brown butter. The topping was nothing memorable, but not bad. However, the actual donut was the barely edible. These are yeast donuts and should be airy and light right? Nope! Was dense and chewy? ! Yep chewy. I've never had a chewy donut before and hopefully never will. I noticed a few other commented on this too. And now for the worst part.the price. Each donut was $4!? !? I understand the location has a part in this, but c'mon. These should be half that, and I'm being generous. Take a hard pass and, sadly, stop by the nearest Dunkin' as it is better.
I'm not a doughnut person, but I know a good product when I see it. I went in to get doughnuts for my coworkers and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Also the doughnuts were a huge hit in the office. If you like doughnuts, stop here. Do it! Do it now!
I would give District a 5 star review but I was disappointed to see their offerings were not inline with the menu they had displayed on their webpage, so I dropped a star. Aside from that their stuff is fantastic and I was able to find other items to my liking without the two doughnuts I had hoped to get. The staff were friendly and the cinnamon roll was MASSIVE. Make sure you check the hours for the location you are going to because it seems each of their locations go by different hourz.
Just paid 9.45 for 2 doughnuts. They were not even good doughnuts. They did not have chocolate doughnuts. I would not recommend
The donuts were lovely! Great place. A tad on the expensive side, and I only say that because I've had donuts with similar flavors for less. I would still highly recommend this place!
Hands down some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. The staff was super courteous and friendly. The pumpkin spice crème brûlée donut is SO amazing. It’s a must try! Their coffee is pretty good as well. I wish they had more outdoor seating but other than that I hope to be back soon!
Good service and nice employees. No idea how they justify these doughnuts being $4 each though. I’m sure it’s expensive to operate a store in DC, so I assume that’s why it’s so pricey, but the doughnuts were incredibly mediocre and forgettable. I don’t get the hype.
Apparently this place is very well known and when we walked in the staff was great. Very lively and appreciative of each and Every customer. The doughnuts are obviously some of the best in DC and I highly suggest going for sure to this place. Won’t be disappointed! Just have one doughnut it’s fine. NBD
