Fried chicken goodness!

I'm new to the Doro life, but as a Mexican American man I have to say if you like spicy you need to get the burna boy (very hot).

I had the 2 piece fried Doro plate, with a side of Mac and cheese, and all the sauces but I forgot to order fries, don't be me and forget the fries. The Doro mumbo fire, the beberé hot sauce fire, get sauces. Corn bread was great too, regret not getting extra. Would definitely go back when I want my fried chicken fix!

This place exceeded all my expectations! The idea to create a fusion of Ethiopian food/Soul food was such a creative idea and the flavors are out of this world. The Berbere fried chicken and the fries were

I ordered the 5 piece vegan tenders plate with MIT MITA - Burna Boy (very hot) spicy level and an extra order of berbere fries. The flavor was good and it was all pretty filling. I really liked the fries and the tenders! I would order again, but I wish they had more vegan-friendly sides.

Had high expectations and they were exceeded! In a part of DC known for both soul food and Ethiopian/Eritrean food, the marriage of the two at Doro is done brilliantly. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and spicy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The char-grilled chicken was equally juicy and flavorful. All of the sides we tried - the collards, cornbread, and mashed potatoes - were addicting. Can’t wait to go back!

Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! The mild flavor has little to no spice or seasoning but I doubled back and got the Berbere and it was by far the best seasoned fried chicken I ever had [in the picture] tastes like halal meat! The mac n cheese is like Ethiopian pasta, very good and the Berbere fries were amazing as well. Don’t believe these out of towner reviews, they don’t know what they’re talking about. My habeshas will not be disappointed

So yummy! I found out about this place via IG and I’m happy I went to visit while in DC. Love the spices on the soul food.

Its location is a ghost kitchen that is shared with 2 other restaurant concepts. The chicken was good but a little messy (I ate in the car because there were no tables). The greens were good. The mashed potatoes weren't my favorite, but I think it was the gravy that I could've done without. The included cornbread (smallest corner piece- like one bite) was different and a little dry, but it had a good flavor. Overall, I would definitely eat there again if I was in the area, but the area itself is not parking friendly.

We had the Fried Chicken plate, Doro Wot flavored Mac n Cheese, Vegan "Chicken" Sandwich, and the Berbere Fries. We all loved it and the fries were a hit with the kids, and the fried chicken was my husbands favorite. Would definitely order again. A dine option would make it a better experience.

Overall would recommend.

Not sure what others are talking about here with the fewer than 5 stars, but my son and I just had the chicken with berbere spice, max and cheese and coleslaw and are ranking it, as fried chicken lovers the world over, as either #1 (my son) or #2 (me - #1 being Hattie’s Hot Chicken in Nashville) all-time best fried chicken and sides ever. We’ll be coming again for sure.

I got the vegan chicken sandwich it was zero taste, and the texture was like the powdered mash potatoes they sold. My husband got the fried chicken it was bland and disgusting, threw away 30 dollars, and went to dc vegan for a good sandwich. The fries were mediocre as well. They can only fool me once. Don't waste your money.

Delicious! Chicken pieces are very crispy and the "hot" flavor is perfect. An extra side of cornbread is a must.

The food was flavorful, the coleslaw was so good with the sandwich if anything it should be on the sandwich instead of as a side. The Mac n’ cheese was perfect if you like your Mac and cheese cheesy and spiced.

Chicken crispy, hot and fresh. Cornbread not dry tasty. Greens a little too juicy but good. Mac and cheese seasoned well. Bacon nuts on top hot and delicious. Take out only. Order on line or at restaraunt. Parking hard to find. Will revisit.

Great flavors - the chicken was a little greasy but fantastic. The berbere-level spice was so flavorful and not spicy. I'll try the spicier option next time. The mac and cheese was a highlight.

I got the 2 pc chicken. It was $10 for toddler sized, greasy, grossly undercooked food. I couldnt even eat it because it was still raw. The cornbread tasted like an experiment gone wrong. No drink or sides. Never again. Wasnt worth the 1 star.
