The owners are lovely and spent lots of time with me picking the glasses that felt right (plus they have 2 very cute pups!). The eye doctor explained everything and patiently answered all my questions. When my frames came apart a month after I bought a new pair of glasses, the owners got me a whole new pair ofthe same glasses (not faulty this time!) at no extra charge. Friendly and great service.

I just had the best experience buying frames here. They are only letting customers in by appointment due to COVID which actually made for the most personable and engaged shopping experience. As soon as I told the owner what I liked, he found an incredible selection of frames for me that all were totally what I was looking for. And then both guys spent over an hour helping me decide what to get. I highly recommend this store if you want to spend a bit of money on great frames and want to be really seen and heard by the owners.

Bad, bad service.
They lost two customers for staring at us like we were criminals. They offered not a second of service, doing a great job of ignoring us.

It had been a good ten years since the last time I had bought my first pair of glasses and I wanted to get them fixed, so I did some research to get my pair of iC Berlin’s fixed up and contacted Martin of DuPont Optical to see if they could be fixed. Martin responded to my email for an appointment very quickly and I came into the shop with my old pair of glasses. It quickly became apparent that I wanted a new pair of glasses, and given the superb selection of glasses in the store I started trying on some new models. Both Martin and Ben, the store owners, were extremely attentive and started showing me a wonderful selection of new glasses. I chose a pair of beautiful Gold + Wood glasses which I am extremely happy with. Oh, and Martin and Ben also fixed up my old pair of iC Berlin’s. I can’t recommend this place enough - both for the service and selection. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else the city.

Benjamin and Martin are the best! I wore the last pair of glasses I purchased here for over 5 years. After they were damaged by my toddler, I bought a new pair (during COVID) and was reminded of Dupont Optical’s excellent service. Frames are $$$ but quality/style are worth it!

Most effortless experience I’ve ever had choosing and fitting eyewear. A bit expensive, but an example of yet again getting what you pay for.

I was happy to stumble in here as I have a very difficult, extremely myopic prescription. I have trouble finding classy glasses. I tried five other top boutiques in the DMV area and was getting so demoralized. The owner here, Ben, immediately eyeballed a frame that would work great. Evidently he’s been in this business for decades and you can tell he intuitively understands what will look good. Not sure about other reviewers’ experiences below, but I found him friendly, happy to sell me what I needed and not more, and he readjusted my current glasses for free. The frames here are NOT CHEAP, but I saw many interesting, arty brands I’ve never seen even in other top boutiques—it’s more like a New York or Rome shop. Similar frames by the same unique makers are selling for 20% more used on Etsy, so I felt I got a very fair deal. Ben also explained why my vision is so poor, something nobody has ever bothered to do in 30 years. Thanks Ben

All the staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute I walked in the door. Was able to get a quick weekend appointment for a new prescription, and their expert staff helped me pick a frame that I love. Glasses came very quick! Will be back for my next pair.
