Went here for a soundbath. I've Always wanted to attend a soundbath. And found this one which was right after the full moon and on the first day of spring. I got there RIGHT at 715pm and in all rights the facilitator could've and should've turned me away but she didn't. And I'm glad. This soundbath was everything I wanted and MORE! Super eager for the next one as well as for attending more of the Eaton Wellness programming.

Cool design and a great bar. Room was nice. Overall the hotel and service misses attention to detail and a sense of hospitality.

Most overpriced hotel ever. DO NOT STAY! This place is insanely crowded by people of all kinds every night for the rooftop bar. I stayed there for three nights and the music from rooftop was so loud that I needed to put earplugs to sleep. The room was poorly cleaned and maintained. The front desk African American guy with long hair was rude and impatient with no reason when I checked in.

Hotel struggled a bit. Toilet broke twice, tv didn't work, and they wouldn't grant a late check out even though it was advertised as a option online when I purchased.

This cool hotel and bar make me want to go back to DC and I guess DC is a hip city now? This hotel has a Michelin guide restaurant, a coffee shop (try golden latte) and three bars. The funny part was the staff at the front desk explained all these places and amenities at check in to every guest and that is true dedication or professional training right there. The bartender at the speakeasy bar was super cute and the staff there were all very nice too! The bar smells slightly stuffy and I wish it had a window but drinks were amazing (I normally only drink wine). Overall great experience at a great location. I am not 100% sure about how I feel about it being an "activist" hotel, I just wanted to vacation in peace without getting in an argument with family over politics. Not a good place to take your not so cool mom, just fyi.
Bathroom too small but not too bad for DC I guess. Shower shampoo, conditioner and body wash smell amazing!

Overall vibe: your cool uncle who teaches African American culture studies at Harvard invited you to his house on a rainy Friday. You arrive curbside to an all-black façade, an "on air" sign with a DJ inside playing old school records, and hear the buzz of people sitting at the cafe and restaurant. You check in at the front desk and plan to attend the next day's trauma-informed yoga. Then, you go up to your room and play some more old school jazz records while enjoying the historic design. You head back down and enjoy a cheese platter at the restaurant while people watching outside. Now that you've eaten, you catch the sunset at the rooftop bar and enjoy a beautiful city view. But you're getting cold, so you head down to the speakeasy with your cute drink, where you refresh your knowledge on Ruby Bridges but through a psychedelic lens. Need to use the bathroom? You bet it's all pink. The next morning, you wake up and before your yoga, you grab the perfect cup of coffee. Each design and experience detail has been carefully thought out at this hotel. You will leave and your own house just won't feel as cool.

Cool hotel, mid-century modern furnishings without being impractical.
Great service at the front desk.

Staff are super friendly and the place has a genuinely nice vibe. The rooms are a bit odd. The bed was OK, the pillows we had sucked and the shower was designed weird (have to get blasted by cold water to turn on). I wish they would have put more energy into the room, but if having a record player and experiencing a hipster vibe is more imperative to you than a comfortable room, check it out. Otherwise, bring your own pillows.

Spent a few days here recently with my husband. Let me start off with all of the good stuff lol. Simone at the front desk is a total vibe! We felt so welcomed. Instantly became family. All of the staff were really nice. The hotel also has a cafe, restaurant, gym, spa, lounge with a fire place, business suites.etc. The decor is great and this hotel is very inclusive. We were close to alot of shopping, dining and sights which is part of the reason I booked this hotel.

The cons were as follows.
The shower would fill up with water during showering. Poor drainage.
The air vents were dusty and we sneezed alot due to allergies.
On the morning of our last day, maintenance started work in another room around 7: 30am. Very loud and woke me up. That's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

All in all, I would stay here again. I miss Simone already.

Charming and trendy hotel in DC. Close to everything and a very cool vibe which includes a speakeasy, cafe and all the stuff you need. Great design and comfortable rooms. They also have a convenience store.

I was there for a day conference, so no experience with rooms. The lobby is quirky with social spaces and even a radio station. The meeting spaces were good and the hotel accommodated our group nicely. They are known for accommodating DC events.

Requested early check-in, was told to come and my room still wasnt ready. They also have 3 bars, rooftop was closed for private event until 9pm. 2nd bar dont open til 5pm and the other is a small upscale bar where seats at the bar were reserved, so only half the bar was available. Also the record player in my room is broken. Great atmosphere and decor though.

Eaton os a hotel that exploits the idea of progressiveness and being founded by a WOC… Last year a lot of us asked ourselves how is a billionaire a good/moral person? The founder is a billionaire-heiress.

Outside of the manager Faye, my stay there was horrible from booking to checkout. I had to physically go to the hotel to fix the issue with my reservation, they switched my room, promised things they did provide, their manager Michele is inept as some of the staff who refused to assist me, I had to change rooms, the electrical engineer came to my room multiple times bc the record player didn’t work, the shower design is horrible and water spills all over the floor, the lights cut off while I was in the shower, the refrigerator doesn’t get cold, they don’t have glasses and will offer plastic cups, and you have to come downstairs to go to the rooftop even with your keycard.

Non-one ever got back in contact with me after my experience. I even wrote an email and no one including the GM or manager responded. If they happen to respond to this, know it’s performative.

Here’s the deal on Eaton. It has the decor and fun party vibe of a unique boutique hotel. And they’ve found ways to bring the price a little lower than their competitors that you should know before you go. Biggest ones for me were
- no coffee in the room. And the free coffee in the lobby felt very budget.
- no room service.
- no breakfast restaurant. Instead, they have a simple coffee shop and a grab and go market and the nice breakfast spot Paul is around the corner.
- no in-room fridge
- no bathrobe

And on the plus side, they had the best smelling soaps and shampoo from a fancy brand (mounted to the wall in containers, so not to take home).

It is rare to walk into a hotel room and actually match the photos. Yes, it’s a tad more than other spots but absolutely worth it and would stay again. Beautiful warm that feels more like a primary suite at home rather that out of place hotel. Warm finishes, hardwood floors, mahogany trim everywhere, cool tile in the bathroom. The furniture is small so you don’t feel crammed in one bit. A working stereo with record player and a few good vinyl records was a super cool touch. Plus, fantastic food and bars right in the building. I really like this place a LOT.
