El Rinconcito Café reviews
19This place was such a good find! I ordered the pupusas (revueltas and loroco) and tamales (chicken) combo to go. I had never had loroco before, but it was recommended by the staff. I'm so glad I tried it because it was delicious, hard to properly describe the flavor. The side was an almost slaw-like cabbage and carrot mix that was refreshing and paired well with the mains, the beans were smooth and satisfying. If I lived in the area I would be a regular here for sure.
I loved the place! Very delicious food and phenomenal service. Highly recommended for both Latinos and locals who want to enjoy Central American food.
Absolutely delicious food! I had the chicken enchiladas which were perfectly well done. The chicken pupusa was also lovely. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
They allowed us to enter late and served food quickly. Many vegeterian options. Great Pupusas and tamales are more of acquired taste.
Tiny place. Very limited choice. Charged me a 20% service charge for two margaritas and some dip. Server seemed pleasant but I felt ripped off. Looks like the take advantage of the few customers they get. I will not be returning. Give them a miss is my advice.
Delicious! We came here for a quick bite and everything was pretty yummy. They have natural juices as well those were pretty good. The place is small place not to many tables, however food and service was good.
This is exactly the type of place I like to eat when I'm traveling. The food was delicious and affordable and offered some flavors I had never tried before with ayote pupusas. Will definitely go back before I leave town.
El Rinconcito appears to have a loyal local following, and with good reason. For lunch I had the chicharrones fritos ($17.55, tax included) which I found to be a simple but satisfying dish. The service was friendly and prompt.
Very friendly family-owned business. Awesome pupusas, tamales too. Everything was delicious
Food was delicious. Service is great. Alcohol is very expensive and not shown in the menu. Tip 18% added automatically to the bill.
My mom and I were visiting DC for a weekend in July and wanted to eat some pupusas at a spot in the area. While the reviews seemed promising the customer service wasn’t great, the server had an attitude, and the food was subpar. The pupusa de frijol y queso was bland, it really didn’t have seasoning in it. I would say the best part of our dinner was the Horchata but that’s about it. Anyway, I wouldn’t go back to this spot but I hope others have a better experience with the service and food.
I always ordered the ceviche from this place but what a disappointment they have reduced the portion and it is even more expensive than horror, it is a theft, at least if they are going to increase the prices they will give a decent portion
I have visited this place a few times and I eat pupusas every time. I highly recommend the squash and cheese and beans and cheese pupusas. The side salad is excellent and, please, try the horchata here!
Great food and friendly folks. Nice authentic dishes with rich flavors. Popular with local Hispanic crowd which is a major plus. Staff are friendly and helpful. Yum!
Awesome Salvadoran food. Very home style, everything was fresh and made in house.
The pupusas was my favorite. You can taste how fresh the tortilla was.
Great spot to support a local business and eat tasty food.
This place is a gem hidden on 11th St. NW. The pollo y queso pupusas are delicioso! That chimichanga though, OMG! I ate that platter in 2 halves because that chimichanga is so well stacked that just 1/2 will do you unless you have a healthy appetite. We received a bag of pickled something with our meal & we don't know what it was but it was good. I can tell you right now that I'll be going back.
This place is super small so if you go in there with a large group of more than 6 people you've already seated half of the restaurant. This would be an amazing place for a small family gathering. The food is outstanding & prices are reasonable.
My only negative comment would be that they didn't follow orders when my spouse asked them not to put guacamole with his food. He doesn't care for it so he didn't want it to be wasted. He only wanted sour cream & they added both anyway. He didn't eat the guac which ended up in the trash & that made him a little upset because it was a waste of food someone else could've eaten. He has a thing about not wasting resources. I don't blame him. Otherwise I give this place 4 Stars.
Two people out exploring and we found this place for breakfast. I had the steak burrito and she had the huevos. We absolutely loved all of it! Super friendly place and a nice walk from our hotel. Oh don't forget to try a pupusa. We'll be back for sure.
Absolutely delicious pupusas for a great price. Definitely get the revueltas! The person I was dining with ordered the tamales de elote, which she said were also delicious. We tried the empanada de platano as well, and it was as fantastic as a plantain empanada stuffed with cream sounds. It's a small restaurant and a popular one, so it was tight quarters for lunch on a weekend, but I was very happy to have eaten here. Great food, great portions, great price! Glad to have stumbled across it when looking for lunch near the convention center.
