The room maintained a constant temperature of hot. Even witht the A/C running. Not cool. The front desk personnel were curteous and helpful. Overall the place could use a makeover.still looks like a hotel circa 1980. Not realizing the location was not in a very nice part of town.

My fiance and I had come up to check out a CAPS game which was really close to the hotel. The hotel was busy so there was a bit of a wait but thats to be expected during seasonal games in that area. Our room was great, no issues there. We enjoyed the Irish Channel Pub next door which was a ton of fun.

We checked out the next morning, no issues at all. It wasn't until we got home that I realized I had left my engagement ring and other important jewelry at the hotel accidentally. Of course I panicked and called the hotel and they said they could not be found and to call back in the morning for the housekeeping manager Ms. Yung to see if she had them in her safe. I spent the next 12 hours agonizing over the loss of my beautiful ring and jewelry. The next morning I called and Ms. Yung confirmed that she had my jewelry, and that our housekeeper had turned it in when she cleaned our room, and that she would keep it in the safe until I picked it up. I'm being 100% honest when I say that i fully believed and prepared myself for the possibility my jewelry was gone forever, never to be seen again except in pawn shops or ebay. But Ms. Yung, her housekeeping team, and the staff at the FI&S restored my faith in humanity and I am forever grateful to them for their integrity and for reuniting me with my belongings. I left a reward for our housekeeper because it was a small token of appreciation for returning my jewelry to me, and she saved me from a hassle of police reports and insurance claims. In this day and age it's hard to trust people, but I can undoubtedly say the staff and crew here are honest and trustworthy people and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay here.

Thank you Ms. Yung, and Fairfield Inn & Suites!

Very convenient location to go around and visit some of the touristy locations in DC. Also plenty of good coffee and food options around. The rooms are clean. There customer service/experience can be a little better. Overall a good experience. Will try to book this on my next visits to DC.

We got to the place pulled up in front of the building. We checked in and waited in line for the valet parking but the valet guys gave us such a hard time and not very polite. They told us to find a parking spot on 5th st because they can’t take the vehicle up front! And there was none. Drove around again and stopped at the alley next to hotel. And told us we couldn’t stop the vehicle there also. Where are we supposed to stop for them to take the car? They were rude yelling at us. And then later that day they put up a sign/cone right in front hotel for valet parking! And we paid $52 dollars plus tax and tip. Probably won’t be coming back to this hotel for such horrible experience with the valet parking.

The room run down. We found trash in the rom.

Pros -
- Hotel is at a good location
- Accessible via walking to various places as its located in China town
- Room is good amount of size (Depending on how many people you plan to stay in a room. Best for 2 people, fair with 2 adults, with 1 or 2 Toddlers)
- Most staff is good (except couple employees with attitude)

Cons -
- Room bathroom doesn’t have any exhaust. Smells like sewage at night when you are not using it
- Room AC/heat is wall AC. Turning on Heat smells like a fire like it never ever turned on (thats odd in the winter time, as we stated in winter and wondering that no one turned on ever?)
- Room walls are paper thin, hear everything from next door. When my kids are inside talking with door closed, everything is audible when I was coming from the elevator.
- Breakfast is good however no full breakfast. They have broken appliances for Waffle and stuff, was told by one of the person staying in hotel for a week that its broken for almost a week and not even fixed/replaced. Thats odd so be ready for not having your favorite/hot breakfast
- Valet parking is $52, taxes not included, was not told in advance. Be ready to pay $61 including tax.
- On the checkout day, they keep knocking every 5 minutes even if told that what time are we checking out. Thats very bad strategy to irritate customers to kick them out basically even if the check out is hours away.
- Bathroom ceiling started leaking and smelled bad assuming its a toilet from the room above. Staff didn’t care about it neither any apology.

I never write reviews but I have time tonight…Accommodations poor! Currently staying here and counting down the hours until I can return home. We chose to stay here because of the proximity of the Wizards game. Upon the game ending, we returned to the hotel for rest and comfort. We asked someone at the front desk for 2 sheets and 2 blankets to utilize for my kids accommodations with the sleeper sofa. After waiting for approximately 45 minutes, I went downstairs to check on the status and grab snacks. I informed staff I was seeking to put my 1 year old child down for bed as soon as possible. I was told nicely there was only one person working to distribute such items. I then returned back to the room only to hear a fire detector/smoke alarm going off loudly. Here it is after 11: 30 pm with a child asking to use their bed and a random alarm going off multiple times.

No comfort. No relaxation. No space in what was supposed to be my bed only. No help.

I stayed dec 18-19 2023, my room was great, the breakfast buffet is great but the greatest thing ever, was I left some personal items in the closet and I called back 4 days later asking if they have lost and found! And to my amusement they did have lost and found, and had my personal items bagged up for me to come pick up! I am truly grateful for the honesty and hospitality of Fairfield Inn in DC! Thank you again

The room was clean. The service was good and the location was perfect. Parking was a pain but I honestly don't know how they could have done it any better.

Unacceptable we got there at 3: 30 PM when and our check in was at 3 and their entire system was down!

Hello have you heard of protocols? When your system goes down there should always be a PLAN B where you allow people to check in via XYZ….

Anyhow called back at 8: 30 PM to see if the system is back up and surprise surprise it’s still down…. Expedia told me they will work through to not get a cancellation fee from them, but we shall see.

My husband and I were in town to see the Dave Chapelle show, and this hotel is conveniently located to the Capital One building where the event was held. There are also many eateries within the area, which is great. The rooms are cozy and the staff is friendly. They also serve complimentary breakfast from 6- 9: 30 a.m.

Great hotel to sleep after a Caps game! However, I was mailed a photo citation (warning) for improper use of the bus lane. Well it looks more like a turn lane to me, anyway that’s where the valet driver returns your vehicle (directly in front of the hotel). This was just a warning but I believe the hotel needs to be aware of this. I’d say the district is obviously to blame here but be aware you may receive a citation if you use valet parking.

Ultimately for the price of this hotel (I ended up paying $272 for only one night after valet (extra $52), the quality was not good, especially for a Marriot.

Rooms: The rooms were definitely outdated and just felt old and dingy. It was motel vibes in all honesty, which I would have been totally fine with it I didn't end up paying $272 for a singular night (on a Monday at that). There wasn't trash liners in the trash cans, instead of hand soap there was body wash (which I thought was funny at first but then everything else started to pile up), they provided only two towels (no hand towels just full 2 sized towels) so we had to use one for the floor when showering and share the other one + use that one as a hand towel. I've just never have been to a hotel were there was only two towels in a bathroom, I'm sure I could've asked for more but also for $272 like add a hand towel guys. Floor looked dirty and scuffed up, like it needed a good brush. Room was also small with a tiny desk that could've sat only one person but it was the only counter space to unpack our stuff because the room was so small, so I went downstairs to eat dinner in the lobby but then was told it was closed (which I understand but then there needs to be more table space in rooms to eat). Was just not worth the price at all if I knew the rooms would be that quality I would have found another hotel and walked or parked in the garage down the street that was cheaper than their valet service

Service: The front desk staff was nice so I want them to know that they are doing a good job and this section isn't directed at them, but the Valet people were honestly rude. Like, the moment we pulled up they just had an attitude, which I can get to an extent (I work in customer service and sometimes we have those days), but the next day they also were rude and it was different dudes so im thinking it's just the valet people's general vibe (a vibe I paid $52 for). I'd rather just park my car for $50 overnight in the parking garage down the street and drive/walk to a further hotel that has nicer staff and accommodations, and id recommend that too for anybody considering this hotel because of the location.

Breakfast: It was meh. Same exact stuff as a motel. Not a lot of options either. Mini yogurt bar was a cool touch though I appreciated that. Only hot foods were sausage, egg patties, quiches (which were gross ngl) waffles and oatmeal. So not bad, but definitely not Marriot quality

Location: Location is great, I booked this hotel for the capital one arena and it's literally a minute walk away so if you want the closest acccomation to the arena it's right around the corner. It's also in Chinatown, and there's a couple food places open until 3am. Not a safe walk at night, which is obviously not the hotel's fault but something to consider if you wanted that vibe

Overall disappointed. Motel experience for $272 per night. If you want quality go somewhere else, if you want location I still recommend going somewhere else and just pay parking or walk

Avoid here, overpriced, cheap room, no hand soap. The valet guy Jason is working with huge attitude. If not like your job just quit

Location was close to arena for hockey and not too far from everything else.
Rooms need updating, majorly.
The breakfast was inedible, and the breakfast staff left many things to be desired, things were left empty for 30 plus minutes, tables and floors were not clean in food area. You guys need a complete overhaul of your mornings.

Their breakfast buffet gets worse every year, and it's getting to be cheap. Old fruit, waffles that half cook, instant egg paddies. We come to DC to spend Thanksgiving each year with a friend thete.
