Went for brunch. The food was all bad. Waited 45mins for bad tasting overpriced food. The service was good.

Great place for breakfast in the city. Atmosphere is perfect and Tai & Shaq offered great service. Will definitely be back!

Hubby time in Washington DC. We ate upstairs in the dinning area. This restaurant was a recommendation for their chicken and waffles however they were not on the menu so we decided to taste the braised short ribs and crab cakes. My hubby said the green needed seasoning. My dish was tasteful but the cold slaw was too bland. Al was our server and was very attentive to us. Butterscotch bread pudding was just okay.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Founding Farmers Restaurant in Washington DC, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the warm welcome at the entrance to the exceptional service provided by our server, Dwayne, every aspect of our visit was impeccable.

The atmosphere at Founding Farmers is inviting and cozy, with a rustic yet modern charm that sets the stage for a memorable meal. The menu is a delightful blend of farm-to-table ingredients, and it's evident that the culinary team takes great care in sourcing their ingredients locally.

Now, let me turn your attention to Dwayne, our server, who truly elevated our dining experience. From the moment he greeted us with a friendly smile, he demonstrated a deep knowledge of the menu and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. He was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our glasses were never empty and that every course was served at the perfect pace.

One highlight of our meal was the delectable dishes that Dwayne suggested. The food was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor as well as the drinks. I highly recommend trying the bourbon mule, skillet cornbread, and ham, Apple & Peas Macaroni & Cheese all were exceptional.

What truly made our evening unforgettable, however, was Dwayne's thoughtful gesture in helping us celebrate our friend's birthday. As the dessert menu arrived, Dwayne appeared with a scrumptious birthday dessert, complete with a lit candle and a heartfelt birthday wish. Our friend was overjoyed, and it added a special touch to the evening.

Throughout the evening, Dwayne anticipated our needs and provided top-notch service. His passion for his work and dedication to ensuring our satisfaction were truly remarkable. It's evident that he takes pride in his role as a server, and it made our dining experience all the more enjoyable.

In addition to the fantastic food and service, Founding Farmers Restaurant also impressed us with its commitment to sustainability and supporting local farmers. This added depth to our overall experience, knowing that we were supporting a restaurant with such a commendable ethos.

In conclusion, our visit to Founding Farmers Restaurant in Washington DC, with Dwayne as our server, was a culinary journey filled with flavors, warmth, and hospitality. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in the nation's capital. We left with full stomachs, smiles on our faces, and beautiful memories of a birthday celebration made truly special.

Thank you, Founding Farmers, and thank you, Dwayne, for making our evening and our friend's birthday celebration unforgettable.

We had reservations, arrived on time, but yet needed to wait 20 minutes to be seated. That’s okay, stuff happens, and the host did apologize. The service was lackluster (we were done eating and were told our food would be out shortly…Ummm, No, we finished eating without you checking on us once…). But the two stars is primarily for the food. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben. Had maybe 2 ounces of meat total (if that!) and a chunk was pure fat. The cheese was not melted. Fries were soggy and sad. Husband liked his meal otherwise would give a single star. Can not recommend this place. But based on the large crowd, perhaps this is not the norm. Will not return to find out!

I had an amazing time with my partner and friends. The food was divine, the service was stellar, and the atmosphere was buzzing. Nico really made our night, along with José. Def would recommend.

I’ve been here about 3 times now and the food is always good and the service is great! I recommend the steak frites or the lamb chops. Coworkers/friends have enjoyed the chicken pot pie, meatloaf, and the chicken and waffles.

All menu items are made from scratch, environmental and social responsibility, all of which adds value to the dishes served, which are excellent! Don't forget to add the maple syrup and cinnamon that is on the table with the other seasonings, very tasty!

There was just something missing from the burger. Unfortunately the food was bland and cold.

I had an amazing time at brunch at the bar! Liz’s service was PHENOMENAL, personable, and she made sure everything was just to our liking. The lunch and breakfast menus were available so there were lots of yummy options. We had one of their pan scrambles, oatmeal, pancakes, and their signature breakfast. The drinks were delicious. This is definitely a favorite brunch spot of mine.

Busy. Make a reservation. Might be some bar seating. I remember this place being better when I went to the other looking years ago. The food really wasn't great neither were the drinks. I think it's mainly a convenient location.

Food was very bland and nothing special. Breakfast tacos were premade and very wet and sloppy. Coffee was burnt and not good at all. Managers are swarming around trying to flip tables as fast as possible and the tables aren’t even clean when you get to them and the hostess has to clean them themselves. Waitstaff was friendly, but seen to be overworked.

I got NYC Strip steak medium, but it was almost well done. Special soft drink served were great, but be aware it is pretty sour. Fries were very salty but wings were yummy. Corn bread was delicious, and the service was great. I’d go again but just to other menu items.

I had the chicken pot pie. It’s turned out to be soup with a biscuit addded on top, but was very delicious. This would be a 4 star restaurant if not for the “wellness charge” added into the bill. I asked for an explanation and my waiter told me that it the employer’s way to subsidize the healthcare costs of the employees. I have never heard of a restaurant, or any employer for the matter, asking the customers to specifically subsidize the healthcare of its employees. Kind of crazy.

I've been here several times, this time was very disappointing. Service was slow, restaurant was empty. The chicken pot pie turned out to be a very tasteless soup with a small piece of puff pastry.

Uff. I think the restaurant dropped the ball and has prioritized turning tables around over quality of their products. There were two people upstairs that appeared to be restaurant managers and they kept walking around with an iPad, my guess checking to see which table was going to leave next. I observed how they scanned the floor often. On top of that, the hostesses would seat people at tables that had not gotten cleaned completely because the bussers were busy and trying to keep up. All of this for the sake of keeping this place running like a factory.
The food was subpar. The beignets were eggy and had no substance. The apple sausage was borderline undercooked. The breakfast tacos were sloppy and did not work (why they’re called street tacos is beyond me).
The only saving grace of our visit was the poor waitress trying her best to keep up.
