Gold's Gym reviews
15You’re better off working out at home than trying to figure out their inane policies and predatory subscription fees. Absolute nightmare trying to cancel my membership after moving away during a pandemic.
Terrible management, facilities are breaking down with old equipment. Too many fees that are charged without notice. Your bill will be higher than what they tell you. Stay away,
Stay away from this gym, even gold gym is famous. Honestly, the equipments in this gym are good. But you will find how impossible to cancel your membership in the future. The managment will try their best to deduct your money, unless you freeze your credit card. By the way, you can hardly hope for the reply from them.
For the love of god, save your time and energy. Friendly staff until you try to quit. Then.best of luck. It took me 3 months of calling them back in order for them to sort out their accounts and billing mistake. I moved away temporarily but will never rejoin here upon return due to the unprofessional nature of this business.
Rude staff. The manager or the acting manager is unprofessional. I requested to speak to him over the phone, one of his employees told me he is showing the gym to a new member. I was put on hold for almost 30 minutes, I drove to the gym (while I was on hold) to find that the manager is getting his coffee from Starbucks and there was no new member on tour. I confronted the worker and the manager, but as usual Gold's gym staffers are ready to provide an excuse.
The worst gym I have EVER been a member of. I move a lot for my career and so I’ve been a member of quite a few gyms.
-There are two semi-working water fountains.
-Some of the equipment is falling apart.
-The sauna never worked in my months of being a member.
- The restrooms were dirty and poorly kept.
-The “management” won’t call you back when you need help resolving issues with your account (still no call back).
- I “took” a cycling class one day, but the instructor showed by 20 minutes late. That was shocking. People move their schedules around to fit in classes! **There is such a sense of disrespect at this gym, that I really hope you shop around and find better quality for your money. You deserve to. **
Great till you need to cancel. Was a member there for a year paid extra so I could be a month to month member with no contract. Canceled Oct 18th. But they kept billing my CC. Put in a block. They changed their merchant ID 3x now to get around my block. It is now Dec and if I check how many times their transactions that was denied they have tried charging me once a day. Even though I canceled 2 months ago. My advice is pay then with a prepaid card when you cancel.
Update: Do not bother with this gym shady as it comes. After filling my dispute with my CC which tried to contact gold's they did not respond instead sent a collection agency to call me.
Update 2: Month after collection agency called they have the audacity to send me a notification that my account will be sent to collection. Think you already did that just saying.
I've been a member since 2012 and have had an excellent experience. This gym always is clean, with newer machines in decent shape, and friendly management to help. The price is fair for what is included. I'm not one who uses a gym for spa amenities, but to put in more of a weight training and cardio workout.
Metro just down the street is a plus also.
Been a member here for a year. Good gym, good amenities, I didn't have to haggle in order to get a straightforward deal. Also I left my keys one day and it was close to closing, Lois was badass enough to stay after hours and help me look for them (fortunately we found them). Great customer service and Lois deserves a promotion imo.
The bikes are usually broken, the whole place smells, the locker rooms are disgusting and falling apart. Add tricky and bullying contract clauses, and this place is easily in my sh** list. Buyer beware, folks.
Well, after waiting 10 minutes for anyone to show any interest in us wanting to sign up for a membership, we were told we would have to spend 15 dollars a person to try the gym for what would amount to maybe 2 hours of working out before committing to a full membership. The staff did not seem interested at all in providing anything resembling customer service. Not sure what world they’re living in over at Golds, but we’re not interested in a membership anymore. To clarify: this was because they hadn’t properly staffed their gym and literally could not even sign us up; and, they were unclear if they could even then let us try the gym.
This is a really adequate neighborhood gym. All the essentials. Some luxuries, but not many. Cardio theater is fun! Regular spin, yoga, and aerobics classes. Nice locker rooms, actually. Great bang for the buck!
For the price, everything a weight-lifter would want in a gym. AC system could be better though.
The gym is a bit tiny and it does get pretty packed. Everyone is pretty respectful though and it's pretty chill. I still consider myself fairly new at weightlifting but I don't find myself having the time to wait around to deadlift.
So I go on the weekends when it's perfect. This is also my first gym and it's been good so far.
Great facility. Awesome room that's dark with a movie and loud sound so you can really jam out and watch something captivating/stimulating. Friendly staff and most importantly (!) Not a scam like LA fitness
