Hilo Poke & Sushi reviews
14I had a wonderful experience at this place. The staff was very courteous and attentive, and the food was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable meal.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The flavorful tastes of Hawaii and Japan were prepared with care and very fresh ingredients including the fresh poke. The prices are reasonable and the service was very attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for a tasteful and healthy choice!
The food is good - best poke in the area and easy take out. Only complaint is that I add avocado to my poke bowls ($1.50 upcharge) and they forget to add it more often than not.
Delicious and so fresh. And the staff (especially the manager) are extremely warm and friendly. Highly recommended!
Loved my meal at Hilo - I’m visiting from NYC where I regularly get poke, yet I found the poke at Hilo to be more thoughtful curated and fresher than all the ones in NYC. The waiter was also very professional and made his guests feel valued and welcome. Expect to be back the next time I’m in DC!
Wonderful place to eat. Prices were good and service was so sweet. Would recommend for anyone in the area to try it out
If you come here to only get sushi, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!
(Also it seems like their sushi is equally good)
I highly recommend the Hawaiian noodles (saimin). It's so flavorful yet not heavy. I'm sincerely considering this as my number one comfort food on a rainy day, sick day, or after holiday eating spree!
Salmon ochazuke (salmon over rice, bathed in green tea) is just what I expected and how it should likely taste like when it's done right. Go try it first without the wasabi and then rub and dissolve half of the wasabi they provide in the dish. Now you got almost two different food!
I would be excited to try more of their hot dishes and raw fish items in the future!
Their poke bowls are fresh and delicious. I love that they let you choose exactly what to put into them if you want. They're always super fast and friendly too.
Everything is fresh and delicious. This is the 3rd time I come. Service is great, I love this place.
Great poke with plenty of options. The bowl looks small but it was very filling. The waitress that helped us was really helpful and made us feel welcome.
Great find! Don't miss the low profile entrances. Great sushi for an affordable price. Staff were super friendly and made great recommendations. Highly recommend for dine in or take out!
We’ve had Hilo twice so far. Really good experience both times. I’d recommend it. Staff are very friendly. Poke bows are fresh and good.
This is the best sushi for the money in the area hands down. The fish tastes very fresh and sushi chefs really know what they're doing. They're also really friendly and even sometimes bring over free pieces of sushi. My favorite sushi place in DC!
Excellent quality sushi. Reasonably priced.
Interesting and delicious Wasabi Crab dip appetizer.
