Himalayan Doko reviews
18Really yummy food and pleasant atmosphere. Service was a little slow/infrequent but very polite. We had Indian and Nepalese cuisine. The Nepalese noodles were yummy and good value.
So the food wasn't good the service was very bad and the portion is so small and they force gratuity for your check
Best of the best. Great and peace vibes. Food is really authentic. I tried jhol momo and it's really and I am happy
Good food, varied menu options, their momos were great - if you want the authentic Himalayan flavor, please do the spicy sauce.
The place could be a little noisy and service slow (as was in our case),
but the location and taste made up for it.
This is a great restaurant. Food is very high quality, and great value.
Stick to the Nepalese banquet dishes.
Service is first class.
Really Good place, right in the middle of DC, food was good, Chicken chilly mo: mo (steam) was damn good.
EDIT: This review was left over four years ago for Mr. Kazi Mannan’s “Sakina Halal Grill, ” and not for the present business.
Please Google to see who Kazi Mannan is, in the Washington DC.area:
The review for Sakina Halal Grille: Amazing ambience, great food, nice music in keeping with the culture that this food comes from, yet modern enough to appeal to the contemporary customer. Highlight was seeing the one and only Mr. Mannan Kazi, with whom unfortunately I couldn't shake hands as he was busy sitting and talking with some guests. But that was the main purpose of my visit and it got somewhat fulfilled. Buffet was limited to six or seven dishes, naans, plain white rice, and dessert. Food was fresh from the kitchen brought out in small batches by the chef who happens to be Mannan's brother. Very decently priced at $14.99.if I were a DCite, I'd probably eat there most afternoons.
Picture was taken with focus on the name of the restaurant, and not my serving of food. I was very happy to be there and will be back.
This was a great place! Wonderful service and food. The staff was amazing. They made sure I had everything.that Goan shrimp curry oh my God what a yummy with roti and white steam rice it was really really.you guys should try GOAN SHRIMP CURRY
Stopped in for a quick bite and am glad I did.
I was treated to a very large portion of lamb rogan josh, and the cheese naan was so hot I couldn't touch it (a very good thing!)
The menu is broad enough for many tastes and makes no assumptions about what it is or is not - it's quality fare, at a great price, and well worth your time to stop in.
Great service and tasty food. Had the palak paneer and chole masala with the bread basket, which were delicious. The shrimp noodles was also excellent.
Great food, all Halal, portions are very generous. Carrot pudding and spinach cream chicken is highly recommended.
I had been there since two days.they serving authentic Indian cuisine with great hospitality and friendly service.
Every bite of our food was absolutely delicious! Just walking in the door and smelling the wonderful food cooking in the kitchen made us very hungry. The prices are very reasonable too. We came into town for a work conference and this place wasn't far from either of our hotels. I took a brochure to share with our classmates tomorrow. The meal here made my trip to DC worth it and I would eat here all the time if I lived in the area. The taste of the food made my taste buds so happy as eat bite was full of flavor. There are also menu options for more or less spicy food depending on your palette. The building it is in is a charming Tudor Revival style next to a lovely old church only about a block from Franklin Park on K Street. Absolutely worth the visit and I hope you decide to eat there! You won't be disappointed!
Beautiful decor, great for groups. Food was fantastic! We ate family style and hadcurrychicken, lamb Karachi, butter chicken and chicken Tikka masala.
Great blend of Indian and Nepali cuisine. The flavors are incredible, and the momo dumplings are a must-try! Their lunch Thali is highly recommended. Great option! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staffmake dining here a pleasure. Especially thanks to Ganesh for his amazing service. Thanks to the chefs for making so delicious food. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. Delicious and at a great price. My gf and I stumbled on it after an event at Eaton DC. The exterior looks like it’s a cafe but after a closer look it was not. Once you go in it’s a different vibe with tiling and decorative tables fitting if the theme. They used to have these beautiful decorative wood chairs but tbh they were uncomfortable so they’ve been replaced with new modern seating. They recently changed the name and theme from a Pakistani to Nepalese / Indian fusion. I was told it’s the same owner and we still found all our favorites on the menu. Our go to dishes are the palak paneer (spinach with cheese) and butter chicken, garlic naan, and either veggie samosas or pakoras. Unlike most Indian restaurants that give you a tiny bowl of sauce with 4 cubes of meat, this place gives you a big bowl that you can legit share with a group if you are splitting multiple dishes at a family style dinner. It’s so good that even when we think we’ll take leftovers home we end up eating most of it then go, “well, it’s not worth taking this little bit hone. Might as well eat the whole thing, ” then get super full, but very content. As a lifelong Indian food enthusiast I highly recommend this place! I look forward to further exploring the menu options.
Its one of the best Nepali/indian restaurent in the area. The restaurent was clean and Food was Amazing. Service was excellent. Price were Good too. We were Definetely enjoy our Thakali thali luch.
Great service and food
I was amazed by the flavor and the quantity that they gave! Loved it
