Interesting, quiet museum of modern art. You can relax there and enjoy the art. For example, I saw a beautiful exhibition by Simone Leigh.

One of my all-time favorite DC. They have some great modern exhibits there, and it's nice to have them all under one roof.

I was VERY excited to go, but the the majority of the exhibits didn’t qualify as art IMO. There was a single artist that was good or the entire visit would have been a waste of time. I’ve never left an art museum so quickly.

Very little sculpture for a sculpture museum. You're better off going to the Fine Arts Museum in Richmond

Museum is fun, colorful and lively. Art is displayed in an approachable manner and the cafe has good drinks. The chocolate cookie is to die for.

The Hirschhorn is described as a leading world voice of contemporary art that provides a national platform for the art and artists of today and tomorrow. With thousands of art exhibits in its collection, this multi storied modern architectural marvel is brimming with art and stories awaiting your discovery. Plenty of seating, a cafe, souvenir shop, good wifi and even places to charge your phone - this is a good place to spiritually and literally recharge your batteries. Download the Hirschhorn eye, an app that, with a simple scan, provides background and interesting information about the art you are admiring. Definitely a must see!

Nice little art museum, but very small. The gardens outside near this place were wonderful. The coffee and ice cream were really good! If you are in the area it’s worth stopping by just for the coffee:)

A truly modern museum of art. Some parts are very surreal, some parts are dreamy and other parts are just competing with any other modern museum. The building is very different. Considering Washington DC is super boring this is a great oasis of a dull city.

Best art museum, hands down! We were only in DC for three days and visited twice to make sure we had ample time to see everything. Purple was gut wrenchingly beautiful and we loved every exhibit. We'll definitely be back. I tried going online to order a few things from the store and realized I can't order anything that was actually in store and that's a bit of a bummer.

Hirshorn is a must for modern art lovers. Pickets Charge is amazing on the top exhibit floor but the museum is installing new art so most of top floor is closed. Purple and Four talks are amazing exhibits and worth the trip by themselves.
Also enjoy the outside sculpture garden on the north side and the garden on the west side especially in good weather.

Do not bring children here, and it is not suitable to visit if you have just finished eating, because my friends and I were a little sick after watching the sudden nude photos and some so-called performance art photos.

Really enjoyed my experience at this museum. The art was so unique and all spoke to me in different ways. They are people in all of the rooms that are very knowledgeable about the art and can answer a lot of your questions. Been here a year and never knew about this museum until my wife took me to it and I absolutely loved it.

Met a friend at the cafe, but as I entered the security guard made some inappropriate comments towards me. He then left his position to stand by the door directly across from where I was waiting, and was blatantly staring at me. I was very uncomfortable and my friend and I ended up leaving as a result. The cafe was also closed despite it being only 3pm. The area and building looked nice, but the guards need sexual harassment training.
