Rooms were clean, in fact these rooms were some of the best i’ve seen better than a 5 star hotel.if you are in DC try them out.

Despite being a "express" hotel, Services at Holiday Inn Express were very good, from amenities to coffee and tea at will in the lobby 24h a day. Very good breakfast included. The only drawback was the erratic room cleaning. Yet I don't require daily cleaning, it would be good knowing when the room service will be there.

Good hotel.

Expectations were low for the rooms, but they were very clean and tidy. Bathrooms were spotless.

The buffet in the morning was nice, offered many healthy options as well as pancakes and cinnamon rolls. The cook was very friendly and came out to talk to everyone.

Lobby is quite big and nice to relax in in the evenings.

The location is not too bad, close to some nice restaurants, stores, and cafes. The national mall and other landmarks are of walking distance.

All in all a good quality hotel that is slightly cheaper than the other hotels in the area.

Not sure why this hotel has such low ratings, because I had the best stay! Front desk was very accommodating with my stay- from getting me extra pillows, to getting me new key cards. Breakfast was amazing every day- buffet; Fully stocked. The staff was very nice and friendly. Rooms were very clean- beds were comfortable. Great city views. Definitely recommend this hotel. Great location too. Special thanks to Richard & the front desk ladies, and the gentleman who takes care of the breakfast buffet. (Sorry I don’t remember all names)

Only good thing about this Holiday Inn is the location is very walkable to resteraunts and stores. They did not have parking, so we had to park at Safeway which was okay because it's cheaper. We couldn't access our car at certain times though
However, upon checking in despite paying in full for reservation they would not let us check in. We had to wait for them to contact management and get everything sorted. Staff was rude. Rooms are small and breakfast was not that great. They also over charged our card $200 for parking we didn't use and a double pet fee. Save yourself a headache and stay somewhere else in D. C.

Great breakfast, friendly breakfast staff, large common area with lots of tables & space, accommodating luggage storage. We will be back!

I was sleeping after the check in then I found man coming to my room in the middle of my room without permission, really he was front of my bed to ask me (how am I here this room supposed to be off today for deep cleaning) I’m religious and I was by my sleeping clothes, I told him go to ask the woman in front of desk she gave this room, then that lady she came to my room to ask me to give her my name without apologizing without any kindness on that time I told her you should apologize about what happened because your mistake you didn’t check in my name on the system also what happened from the man!
She told me get your stuff out your reservation canceled? What (sorry am I coming to your house?)
her manager coming and then fixed the problem by said sorry and she will handle her.
I don’t recommend to anyone to have this experience

4/7-4/11 Family of 6 vacation, good location & breakfast. Horrible service. Overcharged 3 nights parking & no one will talk to me about resolving it. Left messages & tried to call & left on hold. We knew parking was extra & that it was $49. Decided to pay 1st night as we were tired & had a long day. Asked front desk if we could only do 1 day & she said yes & we would only be charged the nights we park there. We found off site parking the next day for 1/2 the cost right near there & let them know. Last night there we did not get any check out slip or email totaling the bill like every other hotel does. In the morning I went down to see the bill & saw the extra 3 nights of parking. The front desk agent told me there was nothing she can do because the account was “locked”. She said only the manager can reverse charges but she was not in until 11am. She said she would let her know. I called back later that day & was left on hold. I eventually was put through to a voice mail & left my message along with phone# & email. Nothing. Called again & left another message & nothing. I’ve never had such unresponsive service from IHG. I also left a jacket there & have been trying to see if that was found as well. Beware of this location & their scammy parking. Again I have no problem paying for parking if we use it. Check your bills!

Parking is miserable and staff is rude when you ask them to explain. Ended up parking a couple blocks away for $20 a day (charges u every time u leave the garage). Housekeeping did bring us towels everyday (not toilet paper or anything else) but the quantity got less everyday and had to call the desk the last couple of days. Rooms were clean tho. Hallways always had toilet paper all over for some reason. All DC attractions are a 20 min+ walk away. I would recommend taking an Uber lime instead of walking. The hotel was nice. The breakfast was kind of bland and bad but it’s free so.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Shout out to Dion who greeted everyone at breakfast and was very helpful and friendly.

The breakfast was tasty and they had a good selection. We were able to fill up at the hotel every morning before setting off on our adventures.

Would definitely stay here again.

Not a great experience… and we’ve stayed at holiday inn by default. Booked to visit DC landmarks and go to a capitals game with family. First, traffic in the area is tough, hard to find where the underground parking was located and once we found it the staff that park the cars were not great. Check in was at 3, room wasn’t available until 6: 00. Had to sit in the lobby for over an hour. Staff was flustered and short with us for asking if there was a room ready yet. We were late to the capitals game at 7.
Room was nice. Small but adequate. Breakfast buffet was good food. But, the breakfast setup is only big enough for a hotel about 1/2 as big. Huge lines, ran low
On food and not enough seating for breakfast for the number of guests.

Staff were flustered often and acted inconveiniedced when asked for basic things.

Also, pretty sketchy neighbourhoods to walk through to get to to tourist areas.

Pros: can not lie, customer service excellent upon checkin, rooms very clean/smelled wonderful, staff friendly.
Cons: valet parking not so obvious/had to hunt them down, location at corner is very busy.
Website says valet parking was $49, I was charged $60 plus a $10.80 parking tax. Lastly, my card was charged $343 upon check in and $414 (which was my total cost) upon checkout. 9 days later they still haven't refunded my $343. Called several times with no resolution.
I loved my stay but more than likely won't anymore due to the financial aspect of my stay

Great location to the national mall, museums and local restaurants.
Room was clean and quiet. Parking is limited to valet and even that availability is limited. Could use some customer service training for some of staff.

We get there 3 and a half hours after check inn. To be told our room wasn’t ready. Offered to check in to a room that wasn’t cleaned yet. Was instantly given attitude from the front desk. Didn’t have parking in the hotel garage even with reservations. Disrespected by staff! After a heated discussion we were given card keys to a room that was all of a sudden vacant. Just not a good experience.

The staff was friendly. Several mornings the free breakfast was out of food items and there were 20-30 other guests standing in a line waiting on more food to be brought out. When it was there and I was able to get a plate it was pretty good. The coffee bar was out of coffee every time I tried to get coffee.

There are several amazing restaurants just down the street.

The only other thing I’ll say is that I wish it were closer to a Metro station.

Other than the other guests eating all the free breakfast and drinking all the coffee it is a great hotel.

Great new HIE with a far-too-small breakfast area. Huge new hotel, with no attempt to increase the usual breakfast bar and seating layout. The lobby was always packed in the morning. Very odd. 5 stars for everything else. 2 stars for the lobby/breakfast area.

While I see the reviews of this hotel where not the best, they certainly have improved to the point I wouldn’t think twice about staying here again. Very nice hotel, rooms a great and the staff really make the hotel come alive. Highly recommended.

The Good: New, pretty clean, rooms are essentially what you’d expect from a holiday inn

Needs improvement: granted, it’s peak cherry blossom season, but breakfast was an absolute mad house. What was left of the food and coffee was the worst quality I’ve had in a holiday inn, not fit for consumption, had to walk down the street to a bagel shop. Also, the bathroom lights are just stupid. How on earth do these work? The lights shut off on me mid-shower. Replace with a normal light switch.
