Hotel Harrington reviews
20 Hotel Harrington has a lot of potential however, it needs to be upgraded/remodeled. Most of the furnishings are OLD, the rooms are old and not equipped with modern furniture, etc. The hotel needs lots of work. The carpet in the lobby is old, filthy dirty, and smelly. Some of the paint on the doors is chipping. The good thing is the location. It is close to the national mall and plenty of shopping to do in the area if you like shopping. There are other up-to-date upscale hotels in the same area in the same price range. The prices are too high for what you get.
HOTEL HARRINGTON NEEDS UPGRADING/REMODELING!
Quite an old hotel. Our room had a 1960s vibe and very basic bathroom facilities. Zero view. Good location though and the restaurant/bar at street level is pleasant.
The staff are really helpful and are really nice people, highly recommend if you want very kind people looking after you
It is definitely an old building in need of renovation. We tried more than one room and had engineering come look more than once and we never could get a room with working air conditioning.
This establishment is terribly outdated big time! It was build 1914 and it doesn't look like they put any money in this hotel ever since. The air conditioning doesn't work good at all, the pictures on the walls looks like the 1900 Only thing good the location.period.
Pretty scary hotel. The rooms are so old. The walls are paper thin that I heard everyone walk by, especially if they were loud, it was like they were in our room. The a/c did not work. Both the room and bathroom were old looking and I think they sheets and bedspread is from the 60s. We stayed there 1 out of our 4 night and then checked out. They were nice enough to give us our money. If we would have known that, we would have left the 1st night. Later we found out that the building was supposed to be demolished back in Nov. 2022.
The place is so old and the breakfast that is not part of the service and seems to be outsourced and is exorbitant - 5 dollars for a single muffin! Better to walk a block to Starbucks or panera around the corner
The place is in an ideal location bit needs to be totally renovated.not sure why the owners are not.modernising it as it would bring so much revenue given the location
I thought the reviews I had read were a bit exaggerated. But not. The rooms have not been touched since the hotel was built. It's pretty ugly to find Lgo like this. The air conditioning.speechless.
The man who attended us (Felipe) from 10 very friendly and charming.
This hotel was horrible, starting with it's very out of date. The staff was moderate in helping us. There was no complementary breakfast. The shower dripped out. No a/c in room so it was very hot, since we had a corner room on the 10th floor. For 1 night the price was horrible. Atleast there was no bugs in the room or bug. Our DC trip was a horrible experience. We plan on a redo and will not stay here again.
Our stay at this hotel sucked my wife and myself woke up with bug bites on our legs the room didn’t have a/c the had to give us fans just to be able to breathe. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, the only thing was location to everything the building is very run down and they don’t put anything into it. If you plan to stay please rethink your trip
The location is very good to know everything, you can go for a walk and everything is close to the white house, the capitol, museums,
Location is amazing, but rooms seem at least 50 years old. Tgis place needs a complete refurbishment
An aging hotel. The location is great. Public transport in the immediate vicinity. There is a restaurant in the hotel that offers breakfast. If you need luxury should book somewhere else. I liked it
Location 5 stars. Price 5 stars. Rooms. Considering the other two ratings, they're fine. They do what they should. Clean place to recharge before you go back out into the city!
Location is one of the greatest in the district but the hotel itself is you get what you pay for type. Overall of you don't have much money but want to be in the heart of all the action in Washington DC I would recommend staying here
The lone star that i gave this review is purely for the location. This hotel is within very reasonable walking distance to many historic sites and memorials. However, this building was established in 1914 and reflects its age very poorly.
Upon entering this "establishment" there was an odour that reeked of sewage and payment is required right off the bat. After paying we went into the elevator which accommodated 3 people comfortably. Next we went to up to our room. The room's first red flag was the fact that one, the door felt paper thin and the lock could be easily opened from the outside, and secondly, the lights wouldn't turn on. Thirdly, after driving for 7 1/2 hours naturally you'd want to lie down. But ohhh no! The beds were rock hard.
Furthermore, the air conditioning didn't work which would have been helpful in the 97 degree weather! After inspecting the bathrooms we noticed a wet and used towel on the bathroom floor. Also, the bathroom was tiny, the sink had no hot water, the shower was leaking, and the floors were clearly unclean.
Regarding service and personnel, they were unresponsive and when we requested additional towels and pillows their reply was, "Alright you can come down and get them yourself".
Finally, the walls were paper thin and all outside noise could be heard.
Needless to say, avoid this hotel at all costs, there are plenty of other better quality hotels at the same price within the area with better service, and amenities.
Great motel location really close to the national mall walking distance to a large amount of the museums and major sights in dc.friendly staff and quiet and not super expensive for the prime location.definitely would recommend
Simple hotel, small and clean rooms, with TV, free Wi-Fi and a small fridge.
Best of all, it has an excellent location, 2 blocks from the subway or you can walk to various places.
It does not have its own restaurant, but downstairs there is a restaurant for breakfast and another for food and drinks.
You get what you pay for. The room was clean, just old. If you looked at the place ahead of time, you'd get it. It was a clean bed to sleep and get back on the road. I'd stay again.
Great walk ability to the national mall and downtown, The staff at check in was good and they even upgraded our room. The hotel is definitely dated but you can't beat the value of the room for the location and the price paid. The gentleman who worked in the gift shop is very kind and helped my preschooler find a t-shirt she liked. I do not recommend breakfast the the Harriet. It will go down as the worst coffee I have had ever.
