Janti Cafe reviews
14Good Turkish coffee, cappuccino was so-so. I liked their almond croissant. Excellent service.
Quick service. Fresh coffee beans. Really good Turkish coffee and baklava. Lots of Turkish delights.
Great-tasting coffee and friendly service from a locally owned business. Highly recommend.
Came here for my lunch break from work for some authentic turkish coffee. I was not dissapointed! I had 3 different people serve me throughout the week and each time they were so nice! I will definitely be back again if I am ever working in the area.
Beautiful little shop and cafe with an amazing selection of Turkish and Eastern Mediterranean specialty groceries that are hard or impossible to find anywhere else in DC. My go-to place to buy feta, labne and laban, simit, halloumi, frozen manti, broken rice. Also sells really nice homewares and kitchenware like Turkish tea sets and double boilers, soaps, etc.
Nice place, good potential. Having a good coffee machine but making coffee all the way wrong. Cleaning the portafilter after each coffee is essential, as well as cleaning the steamer and not adding new milk to the already steamed.
Shout out to Sercan at Janti Café! I was working at one of their outside tables. It was late afternoon and the cafe & store were quiet, so Sercan was sitting outside too.
“You smell smoke? ”
“Um, yeah, come to think of it, I guess I do. ”
He went to investigate. Found a dumpster fire at the school behind the cafe. Others were just standing around taking videos, but Sercan jumped into action and put the fire out.
Another day in Gotham made safer by a local hero!
PSA: Janti Cafe is the most chill cafe to work out of in Georgetown. If you need to get stuff done and want some delightful munches while you get the stuff done, skip the loud, crowded ones and go here.
The people who work here are kind, the pastries and coffee are stellar - and yes, there's a Starbucks nearby, but it should be SKIPPED (the Starbucks was not only was loud and crowded, but smelled like urine the last time I walked in, seriously) and do yourself a favor by going to Janti.:)
If you want to get a great espresso that does not taste bitter and burnt, then this is the right spot for you. Great place and quiet atmosphere to enjoy your coffee with some treats on the side. Make sure you also try their baklava, which tastes just perfect with their coffee.
A nice quiet coffee shop and Turkush grocery store.
I was not impressed by my Turkish coffee.
I wish that all the Turkish grocery items had an English translation or a label in English to help customers who do jot speak Turkish.
The young server was very helpful and answered my questions.
Meanwhile, other customers were waiting.
Great local little place for a quick sandwich, pastry, Turkish snacks, or coffee. Quiet with lots of seating upstairs.
Had coffee and a piece of baklava, both very good. Bought some items from the shop, all reasonably priced.
Wonderful peaceful vibes on here. All of the different dishes are all very good. The owner is a very pleasant and kind individual. This is a great Mom and Pop shop that needs everyone's support.
Great pastries and Turkish foods wonderful coffee options. Upstairs was great for a group gathering.
