Japanese Lantern reviews
5This 17th century Japanese lantern was a gift from the government of Japan in 1954 and adds to the Cherry Blossom trees, for which this city is now famous, that were gifted in 1912. The trees and the lantern provide testament to the friendship between the two countries and provides a focal point for a Spring ritual kicked off by the Japanese Embassy.
Wonderful place great, for sight seeing, and observing all of the beautiful monuments.
Beautiful statue as you make your way around the tidal basin. Another great place to get a shot of the Washington monument to avoid all the crowds. Stature looks even more beautiful with the beautiful cherry blossoms behind it!
This is the location of Annual Cherry Blossom Japanese Lantern Lighting Ceremony each festival season. Ideal location for a picnic lunch during spring season. Adjacent to the Kutz Bridge, you can get some great panoramic views around the Tidal Basin.
A beautiful example of a traditional Japanese stone lantern. A must-see if you're at the Tidal Basin for cherry blossom viewing.
