Jimmy T's Place reviews
11Great Food great Staff was served fast with good food server was very friendly and helpful about places to see enjoy my visit
I was in DC for a few days and this was one of the best breakfast I had. It’s a cute little diner on a corner. We kind of overlooked it at first but I’m glad we went in. The diner is what you see in the movies. The food was greatwas prices were great as well. We went a little after breakfast, the service was really fast, I ordered a number 2 which was an egg pancake and bacon. Portions were just right, not overwhelming and great for the price. We also ordered a grilled cheese to go, had it a couple hours later and it was still great. Definitely recommend if you are around. It is a cash only location so take that into account.
A cozy corner location, but the booths have rigidly upright backs, and so are not comfortable. The folks seated at the bar seemed well known to the staff and that gave the feel a bit of an insider vibe. Food was ok and our server was very nice.
Cute. Be aware there is very limited seating so you may need to wait but the food is classic diner food, inexpensive and the staff are warm. Will go back
We were just visiting in DC, so I don't know if this place is already well known to the DC population, but it was incredible here. The food was affordable yet absolutely delicious, the service was fantastic and fast, and the vibe was just great. I think we even saw Jimmy T himself behind the counter!
I hadn't been here for years and forgot they were cash only until after ordering. Not only was I not forced to run to an ATM, but told to eat and come back another time with my money. Class that is rare in this world. Plus they still serve a yummy breakfast.
Didn't get to stay and enjoy the ambiance. First time going and you need cash. Had to leave. Seem like a great place to have a good breakfast and not spend your whole paycheck. I'll be back!
Visiting from put of town. I always prefer the local "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants. This food was perfect. Eggs perfect. Corn beef hash, perfect. Italian Sausage, perfect.
We went to Jimmy T’s for breakfast. You could immediately tell this was a family business. Very friendly. We had omelets and home fries. Very good and the price was right. I’ll definitely be going back.
An awesome small business and a must try if you’re in DC. I went here after Church knowing it was going to be Cash Only and was a mom and pop small business restaurant. I went in and was greeted by Kyle and I asked him his recommendation. I was thoroughly given a hug by one of the folks which was grateful. The warmth in this place is just delightful. Such good guys, very loving and that makes the experience awesome. The place is of course a little small and there weren’t seats inside but the weather in June was beautiful so I sat outside. The chairs were nice and I got to journal some during my 20 minute wait with some coffee and water. My food came out nice and hot and it was delicious. This is going to be my post Sunday ritual in the time I’m at DC. Meaning to try more food and give updates but for now I had the sausage egg and waffles (no. 3). I had 2 of those and it came up to $17. Amazing price and was pleased with the quality as well. Respect for the business!
The unassuming nature of the building, the well worn interior and the ambiance embodies your standard greasy spoon. The service is very friendly and I love the fact it’s a family owned businesses but the food is more akin to what I would toss together quickly the morning after a late night out than something made with love from a time honored family recipe. Since we don’t do half stars this gets rounded up to a 3.
