JW Marriott Washington, DC reviews
8Great property. The rooms are updated and the location downtown is great! Be sure to check out the gym on the "1st" floor and the sauna in the locker room.
Overall the hotel is in a great location, and the rooms are nice. My main concern throughout my stay was the cleanliness of the hotel. I took a few photos of some stains on the pillows, trash not cleaned up, hair and stains on the sink and in the shower. I informed the hotel staff, and they seemed genuinely sorry and assured me that they would fix the problem. However, after three nights in the hotel and talking to the front desk multiple times, management (the housekeeping management) never contacted me to address the issues. It wasn't until after my stay and contacting the hotel that the hotel attempted to reach out (unsuccessfully after calls back and forth). As mentioned, the hotel staff was friendly, the room was spacious, and the location is ideal for seeing the national mall.
To be fair: rooms are clean, location is excellent, stay was positive until the very last day… valet at The Marriott stole our belongings from the car, when we contacted the hotel to seek some resolution we were given a run around, asked to file multiple reports with 3rd parties, the general manager didn’t even give us a courtesy phone call back and there was no mention or offer to credit our valet parking expenses or any part of the hotel stay. The item stolen was in the amount of $600, and we paid $63 + tax per day for leaving the car with valet. Ultimately customer service and care is what matters most about the hotel, JW Marriott in that respect deserves no stars at all. There are at least 4 other hotels in the vicinity and Given how we were treated I feel no loyalty for this hotel brand at this time.
We parked here for the Warner Theater. The nearby parking to the theater closed before the show ended. This was expensive but the car was valeted and safe. The attendant even gave us four bottles of cold water for the ride home. Nice touch.
The hotel is tired.exhausted. Soiled carpets, damaged walls and. I had to cover the chair in my room with a sheet as the fabric was so worn the foam was coming through. This was my second room. The first room smelled horribly bad and without operable windows you cannot get away from the mildew smell. I hope whoever does occupy the room does not get legionairs. Very limited food and beverage options. It is hard to pay for a chicken breast with a bed of roast corn eat with plastic fork and still pay over $40.
Even in the in room coffee makers are tired. A roadside motel has more to offer then this JW. I was romanced by the location and to continue with my Marriott brand loyalty.but the price is extreme. Any hotel in the area would prove better.
My stay at this hotel was excellent! The staff was quite friendly and helpful, the housekeeping service was excellent, and the location is very hard to beat. Great hotel for a visit to Washington DC!
